And if they were, they'd be attempting to give him as much as possible in order to entice SEA not to match. The article mentions his agent saying he wanted a good portion of the MLE for his client, while this is likely just posturing - its at least a good indication that the minimum wouldn't be accepted. Try and look at the big picture.
