In hoopshype.com, an article said that if Peja is released into the free agency, Vlade would bring him to LA in a heart beat, and, he says, he deserves top dollar. How are the Lakers going to find the money to pay him? I think they use the money from Brian Grant and trade Lamar Odom in a sign and trade deal from the Kings because if Peja comes, I'm sure he's going to start over Lamar. Is Peja going to be resigned as a King, or move to the Lakers?

If he'll go with the MLE I'll take him.. He's not worth huge bucks. He is a liability on defense IMO.

He is also a liability on offense a little bit if you think about it. Most of his shots are off screens or picks, thus he cannot create his own shot.

I'd rather keep Odom than get Peja. Odom is moree versitile. The only thing Peja can do better than Odom is shoot.

I would jump on this if I were Cupchack. The Lakers need a pure shooter. Peja is a liability on defense but I would take the chance. He isn't worth a lot of money but he could help Los Angeles out.

I dont know i mean Peja is arguably the best shooter in the nba, but Odom I mean hes perfect for the triangle offense and hes taller then Peja and can go inside n out and also grab boards, so this is pretty tough. An all around player, or an amazing shooter.

    I think that lineup sucks.

Kobe at the point won't work. Im a huge Kobe fan, and I know he dropped 6 dimes per last season...but he's not the one you want running an offense. Wanna know why? HE IS THE OFFENSE. Other than that and the whole Peja thing (who I don't like,) it looks pretty nice [IMG]

It would be a bit stupid signing Peja since we already have Odom at SF. One will have to be a bench player, and I wouldn't like to see either coming off the bench. Peja can score 20+ points a night but can only rebound 6 a night. Lamar can rebound 10 a night and score only 15 a night. Lamar is our main rebounder. The bottom line is what would you prefer, 7 extra points or four extra rebounds?

i dont think that would be a good thing. if kobe is playing point, he will waste all his energy guarding the other point guards. this will take away from his offensive production. and also, i dont think peja can play shooting guard.

Kobe needs to stay at the SG area so he can fill in the Jordan position and Odom stays at SF for the Pippen if Phil wants this Chicago-like triangle offense to work. It woudnt be a bad idea if Peja came off the bench, he would be like a Toni Kukoc if you think about it. He is a darn good shooter, imagine the damage he can do coming off the bench. Anyway, take Peja off and put another PG in there preferably Von Wafter(that's if Phil will use him) or some how GET A FREAKING PG IN FA!!!

Peja is a great shooter and could really help L.A., but how? How could he fit in with Odom who is a top SF. Lakers should still examine this though.

Keep dreamin Laker fans, I dought Sac just cuts the best shooter in the league without getting compensated for. If they just let Pedja go, it'll probably go down as the most IDIOTIC moves in NBA history. No way!!

Rock4live is right, landing Peja is going to cost the Lakers SOMETHING. There was a rumor the teams discussed a deal involving Peja + fillers for Odom, and the last thing the Kings are going to allow is Peja to play for their rivals for nothing.

That being said, I do not want to trade for Peja because the Lakers can get a shooter for cheaper, and hopefully one capable of playing defense. I also don't like creating a log jam at SF again, and the idea of moving Lamar Odom back to PF.

Right now the Lakers have a huge void to fill at PG and their options are quickly disappearing. It's going to be tough to convince a player to sign a two year deal with a third year team option. This was the reason the team lost out on Antonio Daniels, and will likely lose out on Damon Stoudamire. Right now the front-runner appears to be Gary Payton of all people.
