Odom is not terrible at PF, but he is undersized, especially when the Lakers solution at center was Chris Mihm. Without any bulk on the inside, teams could just pound the ball downlow against Mihm and Odom. Lamar Odom did take advantage on offense, but the Lakers didn't have a low post threat last year, so teams could clog the middle and force them into taking jumpshots.

I think Odom is capable of playing PF, if the Lakers had a big man who could bang down low and guard the post up players in the league.

Lakers1 - I think Kwame Brown is capable at playing C, but a frontcourt of Brown and Odom creates the same problem the team had last season, which is no size upfront. If the Lakers were a run and gun team I could see that lineup working out, and during stretches of a game it would be effective. However, in the triangle the Lakers need some bulky players to take up space in the paint and clear out defenders for Kobe Bryant and Odom to slash into the lane.

Lakers1 - I've watched Kwame Brown his whole career. He is capable of playing the C, but he is a natural PF. Odom is too undersized to play the PF in the west all year long, he'll get banged up towards the end of the year, when we'll need him most.

I don't necessarily think we need Peja, so unless he wants to sign for the MLE or something, I'm not sure what we could offer him when he is available...aren't we in salary cap hell? I also don't think we need him if this core sticks together. If we can aquire a PG capable of running the show (Brevin Knight, Earl Watson, or Jason Hart), I don't see why we would want to sign Peja..our lineup around that time would be:

PG - Earl Watson / Jason Hart / Brevin Knight (whicever one is signed)
    SG - Kobe
    SF - Odom
    PF - Kwame
    C - Bynum

Note: The dumbest move in NBA history was moving Shaq. I hate the guy but I still see it as a horrible move seeing as what we DIDN'T get in return. In no way can you say some white guy that shoots the ball and nothing else as the stupidest move in nba history.

Yeah he didn't play well, when Kobe was there. Did you happen to watch the games Kobe was sitting out due to injury?? Odom literally took that team and made it his for the time being. The reason for Lamar's underperformance is because he wants to let Kobe do his thing and he admitted that on television. Everybody new on the team was afraid of Kobe, under the impression the rumors of him driving out Shaq and Phil to get the spotlight. Now that Phil is back no matter what, we are going to get the best out of Odom this year and every year he plays with the Lakers under Phil.

Shaq wasn't going to play hear...that should be obvious by now because he took less money than what the Lakers offered him to stay in Miami this offseason.

Put the move behind you...Mitch kupcake didn't aquire the best he could because he is a lousy GM. Of all the dominant power forwards out there...we get Lamar Odom? We could of had Jermaine O'neal if it was pushed enough, Indiana would of caved in, you just can't pass up Shaq. There were rumors that we could of had Elton Brand and Corey Maggette (or Quentin Richardson in a SAT). Mitch Kupcake is a lousy gm who makes lousy moves...that simple.
