We have youth and we have tallent. My only concern is that I don't know what this team is about. Not everyone ca start and of the people not starting not everyone can get big minutes off the bench, who on this team will be left out to dry because most of this team is or will become starting caliber and I feel almost everyone on the entire team could be a sixth-seventh man. who's going to get left out and who's going to get the major minutes because try as i might i dono who to plug in where and when.
I would love to be able to answer this question a little more helpfully, but there's just no telling yet. I don't think there's a coach in this organization who is going to tell anyone a thing about minutes just yet. Walker's situation is up in the air, and that is a major one. Who will win out in that position battle? Walker or Big Al? Will it even be an issue? You really can't say. There are too many unanswered questions to be able to judge. Who knows if Orien Greene is even going to sign to a deal? If so, will he be getting 9 or ten minutes a night if he does? Will he even be suited up? Pierce is another situation, though again, if we haven't heard anything yet, he's almost undoubtedly not going anywhere. Blount is a serious issue too. Will he pay Doc enough penance to make the starting lineup, nevermind get a single minute, which came to be the case in the playoffs last year. Doc finally got fed up enough to just bury him. Will that be the case this year? Who knows? I'd be willing to be at this point that Doc is willing to take a chance with some minutes at the 3 for Justin Reed, hell, he could be in the running for a starter's spot with a good preseason (although that might be asking a little much). Either way, a young'un will be the starting 3, pending the use of the MLE, or if Allen is ready to start at the 2 again, it will be Pauly all the way. Too early to say. We have at least one more person coming into the organization, pending Walker's signing or trading. If that all goes according to the projections of so-called 'experts,' Walker will be gone and another roster spot opens up, and for God knows who. Ask this question again in another month, when the moratorium has come and gone and when the C's front office has a bead on where it will be going next season.
Okay, i get you. But who at least is a lock for minutes besides peirce? Ricky Davis? Tony Allen? Delonte West? Marcus Banks? Ryan Gomes? who do the diehard fans think are gonna play and not play, we can't see yet, we may as well theorize.
Personally, I see Raef as a lock, no matter what. Probably Delonte, because he's the only solution at the point. Davis too. But other than that, minutes are totally up in the air. You can probably rest assured that Big Al will get his time in as well, but don't count on him starting straightaway. Other than that, we'll see.
