Don't know how I feel about this one - as with most moves, it comes down to the length of the deal and the $$$'s being thrown around. Davis would be a solid vet addition to the Supes - he is likely only good for roughly a quarter of work these days though - and he's definately not getting any younger.

If given the choice, I'd much rather have Vitaly around to take those minutes I think. He's six years younger, and they have roughly the same skill set - although I think Vitaly is a better scorer and Davis may be the more aggressive defender. Thoughts???

Dale averaged 8.9 rebounds and 1.32 blocks in 25 games for Indy last season - while Pot probably is a better scorer, I think Dale is the better rebounder and the better defender.

As you say, it all depends on the deal. Maybe a two year deal with a team option after the first? I think he can still be productive and would be a superb locker-room guy/mentor for Swift, Petro and Nick, but he is 35. Why not re-sign Pot and make a run at Hunter?

My big issue with just signing Pot is that it leaves us with literally no-one as a shotblocking threat, and probably Nick and Rashard as our best in that area, unless Casanova starts playing meaningful minutes. As useless as Jerome could be, he at least changed shots, and with Luke playing more minutes and Ray and Rashard poor perimeter defenders, I think we need a shotblocking presence in the middle.

I assume if the Nets get him, they won't go after Reggie.

Wow, just checked out the stats. I obviously didn't follow him much after his exile in Golden State. He's not likely to give us that production, but even a guy capable of that is an asset. His age is the only concern - but he does provide a shotblocking presence in the middle - which like you mentioned is a major concern with this group. Nick playing more minutes at the 4 will help marginally, as he's a better shot-changer than RE - but still not enough.

Am I remembering correctly that PDX had some problems with him complaining about playing time??? I thought that was the case, but might be wrong. I always thought he was rumored to be a sort of abrasive locker room guy - but might be wrong - maybe magic tricks calm him down [IMG]

Anyway, I was living in P-town when DD was there. Yeah he was getting like 10mpg under Mo Cheeks.

But that team had horrible chemistry and Cheeks' substitution pattern was all over the place.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the fact the team fined/suspended him when he missed a flight. He was living in the West Hills and there was a terrible ice storm (I myself was stuck for 3 days, I had 2" of ice covering my car). West Hills was 10 x worse than where I was living.

Suffice it to say the fine and suspension really pissed him off since he parked his SUV on the side of the road, called a taxi and so forth then chartered a plane to get to the game. Something like that. His attitude only got worse after that.

BTW, I hope Nate gets iced in! [IMG]
