<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dooling isn?t the Key Whenever the Magic make a questionable move, be it via the draft, trade or free agency, I like to do a little research. I pride myself in knowing a bit about basketball, but I don?t know everything. So when the news of the Keyon Dooling signing became official, I decided to do some detective work. You see, I?ve seen Dooling play more than a few times. I watched him at the University of Missouri and took a special interest in his development after the Magic gave him away in a salary cap purge back in 2000. And the one thing that stuck out in my mind was ? this guy looks an awful lot like a less talented Steve Francis. </div> http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_13528.shtml I second nearly everything in that article, yeah dooling can help a lot but your jerking around a great player who earned a spot in jameer by acquiring yet another guard to give him competition in the already by far most stacked position on the team! It's fine though, i truly believe he can help now, i just think we woulda been better off addressing our big man or shooting guard issues
This will help Jameer though. It will make him work twice as hard as he normally would, which would guarantee improvement from season to season. This is similar to the Brees/Rivers situation in the NFL. Brees played way better when he got competition.

I'm still thinking it woulda been better to spend the money on a serviceable big or 2 instead though, all offseason we've been looking for a pg, in my mind for no reason at all.
I think Jameer will get the starting job and like Gators said, hopefully these two bring out the best in each other. I know Otis Smith said were keeping Francis but it just doesn't make any sense. I have a feeling that they are shopping him around and that we will see him traded sometime this season.
