<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Coincidentally, one week after Brown and the Pistons parted ways, Brown's former club offered Darko Milicic to the Atlanta Hawks for Al Harrington. Brown's reluctance to play the unproven second-year forward caused a rift between the coach and Detroit president Joe Dumars. Now it appears the Pistons are willing to trade the second overall pick of the 2003 draft.</div> New York Daily News (on the bottom) I would pull the trigger on this move. You guys need to get rid of Harrington and there has to be something about Darko that would make him passed up over Wade, Melo, Bosh, Hinrich, Ford and Sweetney. Now, you have your center of the future.
Hawks offered this trade last season and Dumars said no. Why would he change his mind now that Larry is gone? It's BS as far as I'm concerned.
Darko is probably celebrating Brown`s departure and willing to go anywhere. I wouldn`t be suprised if he wanted out of Detroit.
I'm not sure if he would demand a trade now since Brown is gone. He'll get more minutes with Saunders as the coach now.
Darko will end up at another squad either this year of next year..a player like him doesn't get mintues...he gets starting lineup,he gets monthly awards, he gets all-star appearances... this will never happen if he stays in Detriot...he'll never get a chance to develope his talent... i think das why they picked darko over carmelo..not because it didn't fit there needs..cause melo is an American, African-american at that...who knows he a young talent and wants to show it..so he was going to demand playing time no matter what and just give larry brown serious head aches...we all no over seas players tend to be more team orientated..its a good thing and also a bad..sometimes you gotta be a lil selfish and agressive..das what they need to teach european players..the way we play over here
i want atl to keep al harrington but i wouldnt mind this trade either. theres a reason darko was drafted over melo, wade, bosh, hinrich. well...atleast i hope there was a reason he was drafted over the others.
Harrington and Childress are all you have in terms of guys who are at least adequate in all areas. In summer ball,Darko had the chance to show he's a talent deserving minutes- Instead he shows he's a slacker getting schooled by no-name dudes. Marvin's lazy streak has to be a concrn,Smith plays with energy sucks on D. Collier sucks on D. At this point, forcing Marvin and Darko to start would be a mess.
^ ok.... first of all, how does marvin have a lazy streak?! he's probally the hardest worker in this year's draft class. secondly, J-Smitty is a supurb defender. example: he had 10 blocks against dallas this year... while guarding dirk nowitiski (can't speel). plus, darko wouldn't start. Zaza is gonna start a the C. if you're gonna rip something, at least get your facts strait pal..
