I would say... at least give the kid a chance.... he could turn out to be a very good player.

Or maybe the Pistons think he's nothing so want to trade him while he still has the "potential" label on him.

If I was the Hawks, I dont think I would trade AH for him. At least with AH you know what you are getting. I personally can not wait to see how Darko does. I hope he does well. I dont think he will be better than Wade, Melo or Lebron, but I think he will be solid...

Yeah, but Harrington isn't a part of there future plans. They want to sign Johnson to play the PG position, and they want to play Childress, Smith, and Williams all at the same time. So a lineup of:

    PG - Joe Johnson
    SG - Josh Childress
    SF - Marvin Williams
    PF - Josh Smith
    C - Darko Milicic

That lineup is LOADED with potentiol.

Even though at this point Al Harrington is better ya never know I mean if they trade Darko this early then they just wasted a 2nd pick in the 1st round. They should keep Darko for a while and atleast give the kid a chance.

That would be a dumb trade on the Pistons part. Harrington would only get so many minutes which only makes them slightly improved, but not much. That is not worth the risk of Darko fulfilling his potential. It's too early to assume he's a bust.

I would give the kid a chance to play alot of minutes... you never know like Jermain O'neal look at his first few years. Darko could turn into something

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Darko could turn into something</div>Darko probably is something but LB just never played him as much as he should of. Now that Brown is gone it should be intresting to see if Darko stays with Detroit or he could just be fed up after no playing time. I wouldn`t be Darko suprised if Darko went elsewhere.

I think that the trade would actually help the Hawks more than the Pistons down the road. Harrington is a classic tweener who has proven to us this year that he is nothing more than a glorifies 6th man off the bench. Harrington would excel in a system where he doesnt have to be the man (see his stats with Indy) and he could be a good bench player behind Wallce, Prince, and Mcdyss(misspelled). Darko may actually turn out to be a good player. We have to see more of him. I dont think it will make any difference who is playing for the Hawks this year. They will still be horrible. Trade Harrington, then develop Darko so he can grow with the rest of the Hawks. Maybe in 4-5 years, the Hwks will have a decent nucleus and with the addition of free agents turn into a contender.

Darko seems like the investment Detroit is workng on that they won't let go. He will eventually be given substantial minutes, but he's their little project, and will probably be their secret weapon in years to come [IMG].

I would pull the trigger on this deal. Larry Brown is a great coach and definitely didn't play Darko for a reason. On the other hand, Al Harrington would work perfect in Detroit for me, if he wants to come off the bench, he can play that physical small forward role that he played effectively with the Pacers. This would be a move that shows that the Pistons want to win now, rather then two years from now while Darko developes.

    Darko is a PF, not a C

    Johnson
    Childress
    Smith
    Darko
    Curry

    Bench
    Williams
    Salim
    Diaw

    = fun

Darko would have to play Center on the Hawks so Johnson, Childress, Smith and Williams could all play at the same time.

it would be kinda of a high risk trade for atlanta thou...it seems really unfair for darko cause the pistons barely gave him a chance to prove himself
