while all the other teams in the division have been upgrading, we have just been standing pat. IMO, we just waisted a draft pick this season by drafting a player who will most likely go to the NBDL, when we could have drafted immediate impact players like ryan gomes. see, this is what really pisses me off. while the other teams in our division have been making headlines, we dont. while the other teams in our division are out there looking at big name free agents, we're here looking at guys like lattner, crawford, and andrew declarce. okay, i know, we're also looking at hunter and walker. but that's all. walker has been looked at by the heat, and hunter has been looked at by the mavs. billy has said he wouldnt use the MLE on one person. well, he does! because if he doesnt, we'll end up with scrubs like lattner and crawford. its time for BK to wake up. boston had another terrific draft, making them a huge threat in the future. the nets, IMO, have basically won the division unless BK pulls out a major signing, because they've already signed shareef and now mcniggins. new york has gotton larry brown. the only team in the division that isnt threating to us is the raptors. BK has to wake up. most of the teams around us have been improving, and we have just been standing pat. if this continues, i say, expect a first round playoff exit. BK has to wake up and make this a better team. we didnt go far last year with this team, and we probably wont go far this year either.

I agree with you in some point. The other teams throughout the Eastern Conference are making huge strides while the 76ers are basically the same as they were last year. All the teams in the Atlantic division have stepped up their teams. The Knicks had a good draft and made a good trade to acquire Q Rich, most of all they have one of the best coaches of all time on their bench now. The Nets have made moves to acquire Shareef Abdur Rahim, and they just recently signed McInnis they have also improved. The Celtics had a killer draft and they are already the defending Atlantic champs, they still need to sign Toine though. The rest of the East is stepping up. The Cavs are doing all the right things to become a playoff team; honestly as of now I think they could be contenders if they mesh properly.

On the other hand King has done what he said he would do, he promised to resign all three of the young free agents and he has, hopefully King will get on the ball and bring us in another player. We need depth on the bench or someone who can play the SF spot.

I have to say I agree in part that it is frustrating to see other teams improving while the 76ers do not sign anybody, but in reality we made our big move at the trade deadline by getting Chris Webber. The only other team that improved at that time was the Celtics by getting Walker in the conference and now Walker is probably signing else were so we are still the only team that made a significant improvement at the trade deadline last season. When BK traded for Chris Webber he made a investment a risky one, but one none the less. One that he would not really be able to see the full impact of until this upcoming season when they have a new coach. As well as Webber has officially had two seasons to recover from his knee surgery, which is a two-year injury recovery period required.

We have made moves just not the type that involve having to sign a big name guy. Igoudala is improving, Webber is getting healthy, Cheeks will bring in the system we need, Green will get minutes. These are all things we improved which were factors that hindered our team last season. So I believe we had a addition by subtraction effect this off-season it started with JO leaving then when Cheeks came it in my mind became a successful off-season.

Very well put. I completely agree.

Yes, other teams in the East have made notable transactions while we have been "sitting" there. But when you look at it, our team is not as far apart from others team in the AD as you may think, and heck we may even be the best team, who knows?

I understand that our rivals have seemingly improved and have had a drastic makeover but only time will tell if those actions are for the better or worse. I'm not discrediting what these teams had done because I give them credit, they have done some excellent moves. However, they have yet to prove that they can win games. The 76ers proved that this roster can win some games, but only needed some slight adjustments. And BKS said it best as in Webber is getting healthier, our younger guys are improving and we have a new coach. So all those rough edges will be polished off and we?ll be even better. While a team that?s made such huge changes may have some problems, such as an overload of players which will be hard to find minutes for everyone and the fact that they have to adjust to each other before they can reach those expectations that are being set for them. And those adjustements periods may take some time, for some teams it may only take a training camp and preseason (Suns) while it may take other teams an enitre first half of a season to compliment each other (Rockets).

However, at the same time we do need a few fixes in our roster. Nothing considerably big such as the Nets move like bringing in Abdur-Rahim but a significant move that will get noticed. Something to the likes of the Cavs signing Marshall.
