With the uncertainty this offseason has brought us, I propose an agreement. It will sound asinine to some, but I feel this is a pact I must offer at least for my own peace of mind. I, (your name here), do solemnly swear, as a tried and true Celtics fan, that I will not again, for the remainder of this offseason, mention the name of our starting scoring guard. Under penalty of looking like a moron, I will not bring shame to the hallowed title of Celtic Pride by prognosticating unto the glory or disgrace of this season's Celtics team with or without Paul Pierce, at least until the fates of the entire Celtics lineup has been decided. Only when I have a starting lineup guaranteed will I again open my mouth as to the fortunes of my favorite squad... With that said, I have taken the oath. I promise to enjoy this team even more than I ever have in the past. I will look forward to this season with baited breath and enjoy seeing where they go as much as or more than anyone else. But I will not argue with fellow C's fans as to how good they will be. I won't make myself a target of pointless blather from people who want to guess how well they'll do, just to fight about it. Projecting where your team will end up is good fun, if you keep it civil. There are certain people in this forum who only want to argue about how good or bad our team will be, not discuss; I'm tired of it. And be that as it may, there is one underlying factor as to why I will not discuss the-scoring-guard-who-must-not-be-named, because, as a real C's fan, I want to see him happy above all else. There is no doubt that he will never, ever read what I have to say about him, but I do not want to say again and again that I think he should be moved, even though I do, and defend my position by saying negative things about him. If affords an unfair picture of what I truly think of him as a player. He is truly one of the great Celtics, and certainly the best of this era. He has given everything he's had to this team, and I would ask no more of any other player. He makes me proud to root for the C's. But I think his best days are now in different climes. But I don't want to say that, simply because I think that if I were to write these things in a forum that more people read, or that the players themselves read, he would be upset, and so would droves of other people. And the last thing I want is to upset my favorite Celtics player of the modern era. I wouldn't do that to his face, so why do it anywhere else? I love having his around, but I don't think it's the best thing for him, so I just won't talk about him at all. And those who just want to fight about it, you should do the same. But I'm not the boss of anyone, so I'll just let this arguement alone for good, of course you can all do as you will. And please don't think I'm trying to put a hold on intelligent and meaningful conversation, far from it, I just want all the pointless quabbling and negativity to stop for a little while, so I can focus on the task the C's have at hand.
I, Alex , do solemnly swear, as a tried and true Celtics fan, that I will not again, for the remainder of this offseason, mention the name of our starting scoring guard. I got sick of talking about him anyway. I'm just looking forward to seeing how we do this upcoming season.

No one begrudges you that. An effort would be appreciated.
