<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Houston Chronicle - The Houston Rockets will have to alter their search for a veteran guard once their top target, Damon Stoudamire, agreed to a 4 year, $17 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies . The deal can't be completed and officially announced until the league lifts its "July Moratorium," which prohibits trades and free agent signings from happening until the salary cap is set. Stoudamire, 31, appears to be a good fit for the Grizzlies, who are bracing for the loss of Earl Watson. Memphis reportedly is pursuing a sign-and-trade deal for Watson, who spent three seasons backing up point guard Jason Williams. Stoudamire averaged 15.8 points and 5.7 assists with Portland last season.</div> Source
Great news for memphis fans.....All I have 2 say is J-Will don't let the door hit u in the rear on the way out...I belive this lead right into the Boston trade being thrown around..but I dont really like this trade even though we get rid of both J-will and Wright. The rumour has Mark Blount and Banks coming 2 memphis for J-will and Wright...I think the grizz should be able to milk this for better players..Didn't we trade banks 2 the celtics a few years ago during a draft?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting miamiballa12:</div><div class="quote_post">Does this mean Jason williams is going to be traded?</div> Most likely since rumors were spreading about Jason Williams being traded even before this signing.
Sorry Grizz Fans but this rumor is NOT true. Today in local Houston news Mark Berman(does sports news) interviewed Damon and he said that he has NOT even talked with Weis or Fratelo. It seems kind of hard to make a deal when they havnt even talked with each other. DS also said that Houston is his first choice and has been for a while now. And here is a quote: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"right now, seems that Portland is trying to block everything i'm doing and not work with the situation"</div> So as of right now it seems that no deal has been made between DS and the Grizz and it seems that Portland is trying to get rid of DS with a Sign and Trade. http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40988
Honestly ...I wouldnt care if Houston got Damon! On every board ,that this is discussed on, Houston fans are dropping in there 2 cents about the deal...talk about this on your on boards! We don't care if he was at t-macs softball game or in bed with kobes wife! THANK YOU!

Im just spreading news that involves the Grizz and Rockets. If you dont want to hear what I got to say then dont read my post. Its that simple.
I'm not completely ruling out this deal, because it's still possible, but I'm still extremely disappointed that it was proved to be misinformation. It was NOT reported as a rumor; it was reported as a fact. It's just sad how much information has been printed as fact lately but actually turned out to be lies. The Indiana/Los Angeles trade was supposedly a done deal, the Lakers were supposedly getting Carlos Boozer, and Jarrett Jack was supposedly withdrawing from the draft. Now this is just the icing on the cake. Shouldn't it be illegal to print these lies as facts? I just spent the whole day bragging to friends; telling them how we'd have a legit Point Guard rotation afterall, and how we'd be free to package Jason Williams and Lorenzen Wright for a legit big man, but now I just look like a big liar thanks to misinformation I received from this article.

I think that a lot of these reporters jump at any story that they can get their hands on making a lot of stories that aren't entirely accurate. Here is a copy of the article where West denied the acquisition of Damon Stoudamire. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Although Damon Stoudamire is atop the Grizzlies' wish list, West downplayed a Houston Chronicle report that the Griz and Stoudamire have agreed on a four-year, $17 million contract. "We have interest," West said Saturday. "We're exploring a lot of options, and he's not the only one. We have interest in a lot of people."</div> Source I guess we will have to just wait and see whether or not this actually happens.
While you did get Stoudamire. You got RAPED in the Miami trade. Why would you give up Posey? He was you're best player at one time.
