<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Steven Hunter, who showed much promise in his one year in Phoenix, is a free agent who is expected to make a decision this weekend about where he will play next year. He has narrowed his choices down to four teams - Dallas, New Jersey, Atlanta and Phoenix. Hunter hopes to stay in Phoenix but could not get more than a one-year commitment for the minimum exception ($1.7 million) plus an option year from the team. The 7-foot center is looking for a four or five-year deal and could end up with the Mavericks.</div> Source Sad to not see the Philadelphia 76ers on that list of four teams but I don't think we are still 100% out of this. If we show him the money, people will come. Otherwise if we lose out on Hunter who do we go after? I don't want Chris Crawford and my next choice would be Antoine Walker, who is close to coming to the Heat. That hand is going closer toward that emergency button for Billy King.
That stinks, but yeah who's left? There's still Evans and maybe Walker. God forbid they sign Declerq..*shudders*
Darn, Hunter would really have been a good signing for us. We'll I guess we're going to have to concentrate on signing some other guy like Reggie Evans. But please, I wish King wouldn't even flirt with the idea of signing Crawford- it worries me. Anyways, Walker is all but going to Miami so the only free agent thats of really interest to us should be Reggie Evans I think.
Ugh. Once I heard that Dallas was in the mix for Hunter, my hope went way down, I think Cuban has a psyche for attracting any players he wants. Well hopefully BK keeps looking at the best whats out there. I think its been confirmed that Walker is going to Miami. And Reggie Evans is still out there but has he shown any intrest...?
I wanted Hunter, but the 76ers can live without him. At the same time they are still in need of a player who can contribute off the bench, or a player who can start at the small forward spot.

Hunter would actually help Dallas so I don't know what you're complaining about. Anyways, the rumors regarding Philadelphia and quality powerforwards have really declined. I've nothing so far other than that Deng Gai person in the other thread.
well, ive said it all along. reggie evans would be a great fit for this team. he rebounds and does the dirty work. but so far, i dont think billy king has expressed any interest. if we let evans go, who else can we get? declarqe, lattner, crawford, walker. walker seems to be the best choice, but i doubt we'll get him.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting playmaker31:</div><div class="quote_post">I hope NJ gets him, we need some defense up front</div> i doubt you guys will get him. you already used alot of money on shareef, so i dont think it will be possible. i also hope that you guys wont get him, because it gives you guys an even better chance on winning the division.
Well, I remember reading on HoopsHype that Hunter was supposed to make up his my mind by the past weekend, so I wouldn`t count the chickens to early about us losing Hunter...
I hear this article was a mistake, they had another article this past weekend which had Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Dallas as the top three choices. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">July 30, 2005 According to The Arizona Republic Newspaper, in their latest update on the free agent Steven Hunter, they stated that he will make his decision this weekend. Then they listed 3 teams which they said were intrested, Philly, Dallas, and Atlanta.</div>
