<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Eddy Curry says he'll feel a little disappointed and frustrated Tuesday when the newly ratified NBA labor contract allows free agents to start signing deals

Curry, a restricted free agent, will be on the outside looking in.

"But I can't worry about things I can't control,'' the Bulls center said Saturday at Hanson Park, where he was the ambassador of the eighth annual Chicago Area Projects Youth Olympics. "That's all in my agents' hands. What I can do is continue to approach it like a professional. That's why I'm in the gym six days a week working with [Chicago trainer Tim Grover] to get in the best shape I can get in for next season.''

Curry said that the Atlanta Hawks are the only NBA team he has visited, that he's not scheduled to visit any others and that no team has made him an offer outside the one-year, $5.2 million qualifying offer the Bulls made to enable them to keep Curry by matching his best offer from another team.

"But I'm confident that everything will be worked out ... that I will have all this behind me within a month or so,'' Curry said. "I'll continue working out, and I'll be playing somewhere next season.''

Curry said his first choice is to re-sign with the Bulls, whose operations chief, John Paxson, says he still intends to re-sign Curry even though Trustmark, the insurance company that underwrites player contracts, reportedly will not indemnify Curry's heart. </div>

I think that the whole irregular heartbeat was over emphasized by Bulls doctors. I believe that this was a ploy to lower eddies worth being that this is a contract year for him. If Curry wasnt in his contract year he would have been present during the playoffs, and this wouldnt have been a story. I wish curry would have seen doctors not affiliated with chicago before this became a big situation ( getting some second and third opinoins since its in the bulls doctors intrest to lower his worth) .

But i think curry will be back in a chicago uniform on october 15th. I just hate to see a guy get screwed out of potential money.

Good luck Eddie I hope you get signed somewhere fast!

    Go Bulls!

I find it hard to believe that was the Chicago Bulls intent when they discovered his heart condition. This organization prides itself on building a relationship with there players. For reference look at what happened when Jay had that accident if they just wanted the money they did not have to pay him anything, but they actually reached a settlement that paid Jay in the end of things. Also John Paxson said in an article that if it came down to it, and Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, and Chris Duhon did not get offers. He would not allow them to sign for the qualifying offer he would do his best to work with them, and give them the money they deserve. So I do not think money is the concern with the Curry situation.

An irregular heartbeat can never be over emphasized enough. I mean just look at the case with Turiaf and the Lakers. These are things at times can threaten peoples lives.

Yes it is different. However, I was speaking before he was cleared. He was not cleared to play until the playoffs ended. So I was responding to the fact the Bulls medical team did not overract to the injury.
