<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Cavs may have missed in pursuing Larry Brown as a team executive, but will the just-named New York Knicks coach have better luck landing Cavs point guard Eric Snow for his new squad? Word is, don't be surprised if Brown convinces Knicks General Manager Isiah Thomas to acquire Snow as a backup point guard - someone Brown can then use as a motivational hammer over Knicks starter Stephon Marbury, who clashed with Brown last year on the U.S. Olympic team. Snow, who could be the Cavs' starting point guard this season, played for Brown in Philadelphia - and had a key role on the 2001-02 Sixers squad that reached the NBA Finals. </div> Source
Snow isn't even the best PG on his team, he's very washed up and done, not to mention his contract is a bad one...we're not heading the right direction this way, we have Marbury, Crawford, Nate Robinson...we don't need PG's.
LB favors point guards - especially those that are familiar with his system. Snow understands how to run the LB "show". While i do not think acquiring Snow to be the starting PG is a wise decision, having him play meaningful minutes as a quality back-up is worthwhile. Not only can he serve as a valuable back-up but he can also bring some competition for Marbury. Competition is healthy. It makes everyone better. Hopefully, this will inspire Marbury to buy into the system. If the Knicks can acquire Snow through a trade, this is an excellent opportunity to get rid of one of their many PFs or SGs. I have always liked Snow. He's got a nose for the ball and he's tough. Sure, his skills have diminished. I think he'd be a great addition to the Knicks and a serviceable back-up pg.

They're all shoot first guards while Snow is a true point guard. He knows how to distribute the ball really well and can set up teammates perfectly. Sure, he's mediocre at best of a scorer at this stage of his career, but he's still a good playmaker and knows the Brown system well after playing under him in his Sixer days.
I think Marbury will be shopped around and traded unless no one wants him, I dont see him and LB working well together. I would also like to hope that Larry will play Nate Rob but i doubt that as well.

Nate Robinson cant be used in every situation especially against the bigger point guards. So you bring in Eric Snow who can guard the pg spot. And that allows you to move Marbury over and play a little two guard from time to time without risking having problems with Robinson's lack of size.
Nate's strength, hops, quickness will often give him a matchup edge, more than the opponent. Marbury's contract is huge. While he has obvious talent-a lot of teams would not take him at half the price. Crawford may be tradable. The Knicks habit of throwing $ around has them somewhat stuck, many guys they might like to swap are so overpriced there are no takers. Around trade deadline time, someone may want a salary dump deal for expiring contracts-yet the Knicks are the folks who MOST need to see those contracts end-so a deal of Penny,Thomas, for a contract with time to go is only viable if its a guy they want. Desirable guys in the $10 mill++ area tend to be your stars, and teams likely won't deal stars of VALUE for an expiring. The Knicks COULD likely deal Sweetney,,but i don't think Sweetney for Snow works.
Snow would be a very nice pickup for NY as that #1 reserve for Marbury. Larry loves E. Snow`s defense after all the old Sixer days, and he wants to bring that defense back to his team.
I don't know about Snow coming off the bench, I think if a team wants his full services then he needs to start because he didn't play the 6th man role in Cleveland that well at all. I know Larry Brown likes Snow a lot, so maybe the Knicks will talk a shot at trying to get him. Either way I don't think it will have much affect on either team if a trade were to happen. I do hope Nate still gets his opportunity to play. I know Coach Brown has a bad rep for not being able to coach younger players, but Nate Robinson is a hard working player and is very energetic, what reason would Brown have not to play him?
So I guess this would be Larry Brown's way of telling Nate Robinson to find a seat way down on the end of the bench and get comfortable. This would be a horrible move if Isiah makes it. We don't need him here in NY at all. We are not going anywhere this year and I would much rather see our young guys get more playing time, this wouldn't help Nate's situation at all.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting QRich:</div><div class="quote_post"> We are not going anywhere this year </div> I wouldnt go that far.. Knicks aint that bad lol
I was thinking the knicks would try to get Frank Williams but i definatly would not like Snow on the team.
Well, New York Post has it that Marbury will shift to shooting guard after a preliminary meet with Larry Brown, and Eric Snow would be a great choice for that hole at the starting point guard spot.

Brown is intent on making Marbury a two guard, this means the Knicks could be in the market for a starting point guard. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/story/334244p-285576c.html I don't know, Marbury is a little short to defend other SG's in the NBA. And then i think of AI though, who is shorter than Marbury. AI has defense that Marbury lacks. I don't think it will work. Remember Brown made AI a SG...
dey dont need snow dey really have 3 pgs including jcraw they should go for another big man instead of a pg
