Well, as you all know Larry Brown hates rookies. And guess what? You got plenty of them this year. I really doubt that LB will even think about giving them quality minutes on the floor. Why would he change the ways he coaches this time around. He is very stubborn when it comes to this. Your thoughts?
I'm sorry but I have never bought the line that "Larry doesn't like rookies" he plays the guys that can play. Larry Hughes, Tim Thomas e.t.c. He just has a tough way of dealing with them all. He can damage guys's confidence like he did with Carlos Delfino this year. Guys that are willing to work hard and defend will be able to get in his rotation.
I agree Brown really hates using the rookies, but I think hes going to be forced with using the rookies in NY since they got alot.
I don't know man. You tihnk about it in Philly and Detroit. He really only had a rotation of about 6-7 guys and thats all he needed. He usually just needed one guard and one forward coming off the bench.
New York's got the type of rookies that Brown can use though. Robinson and Lee are both hard workers and fill roles that Brown has always needed on his teams. Frye can be a good athletic centre, but he is probably the most likely to have problems with Larry.
I stated this in another thread, but I feel like Frye will really struggle under Brown at least for his first season. Both Lee and Robinson are guys who are known for playing defense, and working hard, two things not directly linked to the name Channing Frye. I do not think he will be in Larry?s good graces unless he bulks up a tad or becomes a good defender. Fortunate for him Jerome James is not exactly the model Larry Brown player either.

LB plays his rookies if they are ready/deserving (Iverson, Prince in his first season under Brown), and doesn't play them if they arn't (Darko, Dalembert).
I think Larry will have to get used to alot in NY. Rookies, not alot of his defensive players like he had with Detroit, and just a whole new beginning with the Knicks.

IMO, this is the only knock on LB as a coach. How does he expect anyone to play better and improve if he shows zero confidence in them? If he had played Darko more, and used him for at least 5 minutes per game in the finals, things mightv'e turned out different. Because of LB, Darko was mocked as LB's "Human Victory Cigar". I also think Darko is one of the reasons Detroit knew they had to get rid of LB.
