<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ESPN.com - Marc Stein is reporting that the Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Hawks are on the verge of completing a sign and trade with restricted free agent, Joe Johnson. The deal would send Johnson to Atlanta in exchange for Boris Diaw and two future first round picks. Johnson has agreed to sign a five-year/seventy million dollar contract with the Hawks</div> ESPN.com
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting da pimp 1:</div><div class="quote_post">Is this Boris guy any good?</div> Well, his offensive game needs work, but Phoenix will like his defensive game. He's a 6-8 PG/SG. He's young too, only 23. The important part of this deal isn't him though, the 2 first round picks will probably be of more value since the Hawks will suck for a little while longer.
the 5 million trade exception is actually far bigger than any player or pick the Suns get in this deal. That TE could get the Suns Finley and maybe a back-up PG.
Not bad, Diaw is a great defender who can play 4 positions, he alot similar to Marion, but without the offense, decent set of outerrior passing skils, I always like Diaw, Phoneix has a good back up SF for Marion now, and this is probably Diaw's chance to final become an important role player, IF he stays consistant. Yeh Suns won't probably win 60 games, but they're now an all around club with some perimeter defenders, and a great post defender in Kurt Thomas. Nash/Barbosa Bell/Jackson Marion/Diaw Amare/Tischer? Kurt Thomas/Hunter the team is good, you guys just need more front court reserve guys.
2 first rounders? i dont know if i like it from the hawks side even though we are gettin joe johnson. we should keep those 2 first rounders and give something else.
I think this lineup is gonna be too slowtempo for the Suns. Yeah they got better defensively, but they won't be as exiciting, and they won't win as many games. I honestly think a lot of teams are less scared of the Suns, especially without JJ.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Is this Boris guy any good?</div> a lot of people say he has potential to be a top5 defensive player. anyway, no way we'd do this. although we have a pick from boston that we could give PHO next year. then we could keep OUR pick and get mardy collins! YAY

Excellent, now if only the Mark Cuban makes sure Finley doesn't go to the Suns... I like this trade alot for Phoenix (even though i desperately want the Warriors to win the pacific) Boris is a decent young player add the two picks and a 5 mil TE and the Suns have 3 more future players of their choice. If Phoenix can get Finley then i believe they are a better team than last year. Atlanta gave up alot and will soon realize that they cant have swingmen playing every position. They better get a legit C fast, a non-tweener PF would help too. Plus they give up a promising young player and two picks and absorb a nice fat contract. In my opinion they would have been better off trying to get several good players via free agency (Flip Murray, Antonio Daniels, Stromile Swift, etc) than one very good player via trade.
whoa! this is gonna be a grand theft auto for the suns. jj is not worth 2 first round picks from a lottery team.

The only thing that would happen if they don't sign Finley would be that your Rockets have a better chance. T-Mac is awesome.

i dont think that trading jj will help us much in achievieng the ultimate goal of winning the championship.. looks like sarver doesnt care much about the winning... although i must say that paying that much money to jj was a bit of a stretch. he shoud be content with 10 milions a year and let that be it. JJ could also show some apreciation in suns for keeping faith in him when he wasnt so productive in his first seasons as he is now....
