This deal was needed to salvage team chemistry. You do not allow a player to say all that crap to ESPN and then sign him to a HUGE deal...to HOPE, that he will come back and be cool and play nice. F JJ...F him...and F his attitude. He deserves to go to the arm pit of the NBA. I hope he enjoys his stay in the hell.....
he is gonna SOOO regret this decision.... championship at the grasp of his hand and he leaves for the money... anyone remeber that mcdyess dude? as for team chemistriy... well i guess you have a point there.. but come on.. 60 mil dollars is filthy rich.. argh.. spoiled superstars
Yeah, I think JJ had intentions of getting out of PHX all this year. Apparently he even got in a little argument with Amare that helped sway his decision. He also isn't happy with his role of being the 3rd or 4th option. That is kind of dumb for me, he was playing on a relatively unselfish winning team, now he is heading to Atl a losing team where everyone is going to try and get theirs. You have to wonder; do these dudes play for the big contracts or for the love of the game and winning?
It's obviously for the money. Well i hope JJ doesn't regret this because he was a good guy when he was with the suns does anybody know anything about that guy we are getting from Atlanta for joe.
yeah. Boris Diaw. he's 6'9" tall, athletic, strong, a very good defender, and a great playmaker. kinda like JJ, but without the shooting. don't worry, he's decent.
Joe Johnson will regret this move when the reality of playing in Atlanta sets in. I never thought JJ was the kind of a guy that will go for money, but I guess it says a lot about him.

Joe gave up his opportunity to become a champion because he wanted to be the first option and leader on possibly the worst team in the league. He gave up on his teammates, fans, and management. SELFISH!!!
As I've mentioned in other threads, I'm a fan of the team first and the players second. One of the "features" of this mentality is that when someone like JJ pulls something like this, though I regret losing the talent I am ultimately glad the personality left.

There response is always "it's a business" well the same for the player as well.

Meaning that he would make the same amount of money (5 years $70 million) in Phoenix.
Joe Johnson is a great player... and im gonna miss him... but he is not worth the contract atlanta offered... without Steve Nash, Johnson is mediocre at best... any average player with some 3-point range (Raja Bell) can step in this year and fill the roll of Johnson... the suns have the talent to beat the spurs this year and the money to create a championship winning depth... all in all the suns are a better team because of this trade
i'm not sure about that but any player playing with Steve Nash is always gonna be better. We have money left over since JJ isn't coming back we can use that for signing a center and adding depth to our bench.

Raja is no less a plyer than Johnson. They're basically the same guy.
I just learned more about the JJ trade. The Hawks made the deal but did not ask for the main owner's approval and he said he does not want this to happen. It looks bad for the Hawks. Haha, the Hawks can't win at anything.
Assuming the deal with the Hawks falls through, do the Suns make room for JJ now or is the rift in the relationship too, big to repair?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Assuming the deal with the Hawks falls through, do the Suns make room for JJ now or is the rift in the relationship too, big to repair?</div> I don't think the Suns can keep him. If the the Hawks deal falls through (doubtful) and there are not taker in a sign and trade then he could be a Phoenix Sun next year.
My dad said if it falls through maybe we could change his contract a bit, and we could trade him? I don't want JJ back and I don't want our team to suck up to him to come back. I just want a better trade for him so that we can win the championship THIS year.
Would it be possible to set it up (in case the hawks renege) so that we could trade JJ by the all-star break at least? Maybe for a big man or something?
