Really, feel the truth to your words. Out of curiosity what do you do for a living because I think "whores of media" could care less on what you say since you don't work for any sports teams. Do you?? IF Not so don't talk like your words on here change peoples minds in the media and front offices. They sure the hell don't change my mind and I doubt they change the mind of Ted Thompson and Mike Sherman. So Green Bay gives in to Walker and he gets his big contract. Then why shouldn't they give in the Grady Jackson and Bubba Franks. Hell that gives Jackson and Franks more leverage on the Packers and no the front office is soft and will eventually give in or at least risk the chances of them sitting out some games during the season and that could cost the Packers a lot. Then the Packers would be tight on cap for the future and I really don't think they have enough money to pay Walker,Jackson and Franks this year and then have enough for Green next season. We still got to get Aaron Rodgers signed. Take that into account as well. Especailly since Amahn Green's contract is probably gonna have to be resolved next off season. So giving into a hold out like that can hurt a team and plus the fans didn't want him to give in. I think a $650,000 is enough for Walker to live off of as well. So don't talk like Walker doesn't get payed when in the non sports world most people don't come close to that mark.

You can see the bags under their eyes from the lack of sleep. $650,000 is enough to live off of for how long? The winner of Survivor will take home almost twice that much money and doesn't have to worry about a possible career ending injury. Be honest with yourself, if you had the ability to play NFL football, you would want to be paid what you thought you were worth. You would also know that your one play away from being done in the league, so you need to make the most of the time you have to play. The Packers are asking Jevon to play for two years UNDER his worth. That's a long time in NFL years. I promise you that if Jevon's numbers start to decline it won't take them two years to tell him, we need to redo your contract or your going to get cut. The Pack did it to Antonio Freeman. They'll do it to Jevon Walker.
You do know Javon Walker is spelled with the A right. Now you got to be kidding me. $650,000 is plenty to live off of for the remaining 2 years left on his contract and many more to come. Hell if he performs great this season he has a good chance of getting a new contract. Again you go in with a bad attitde when it comes to injuries. Why would he want to think about getting injured. Yea sure it can happen but I am not gonna step into the season thinking "gee I wonder in what ways I am gonna get hurt". Thats a bad attitude.

Football is a contact sport. NFL Football is a collision sport. An athlete would have to be an idiot to not be prepared for the potential of injury. That means trying to play for as few years as possible UNDER your worth. Jevon Walker is risking everything to come back and play on the possibility of getting a new contract and the Packers are risking nothing. That sounds fair to me.
Well thats football and life. You think if he sat out the whole year he would of had a better chance no. As for being realistic. Yea of course it's a contact sport. Amhan Green is risking his chance by playing this year to get payed next year. James of Indy is as well. hell everyone is. The only way their not is if they go into a lockout and no one wants that. So I guess it would of been best for Walker,Owens,James,Seymour,Alexander,Jackson,Johnson not to play because it's a risk. Well they're the ones who chose the career of football, so taken risks is part of the job.
I think it's over simplistic to make sweeping generalizations regarding each of those player's situations. I didn't say he should hold out the whole year. I do think the Packers would have struggled without him and his leverage might have increased if the Packers start to fall behind the Vikings in the standings.
I think even with him there the Packers are gonna fall behind the Vikings. I don't think there would be panic though since in the past 2 seasons the Packers have fallen behind the Vikes and caught up because the Vikes choke near the end of the season. Though I think this season the Vikings are built much better than the Packers overrall.
He also got a $3 million signing bonus as a rookie, so if he never played an NFL down, he wouldn't have had to pay it back. Average it out with his base salaries over the life of his contract and he's making over a million a year. I'm pretty sure he can "struggle along" on that. If he blew his signing bonus on stupid things, it's his own fault.
He mightve pulled a mike tyson. U never know. I think this is all a trick for him to get a new contract but it wont happen.
if he held out and the packers starting losing a lot of games they would of paid him the money so he could get in and contribute
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (panthersare#1)</div><div class='quotemain'>if he held out and the packers starting losing a lot of games they would of paid him the money so he could get in and contribute</div> I doubt it because the Packers wouldn't of been that desperate. We lost a lot of games last season and we didn't pay Mike McKenzie.
Once we got wind of MMs hold out we went and drafted two possible replacements, Once we got wind of Walkers Holdout we went and drafted Murphy for insurance. We woulden't pay him just because we were losing, we have plenty of talent.
