Ricky Davis..what comes to mind? A loser full of himself and showing off, or a team player with tremendous heart? Ricky Davis has been called just about everything, but to me Ricky Davis is a warrior not listening to all the crap about him, instead his court is his heaven everytime he is on the court he is filled with nothing but energy. He has a ton of heart and you can tell he wants the C's to win. He can give you 15 points a game, defend anyone and jump out of the building and i am excited to have him on the Celtics. He has finally found a home here in Boston and i cant wait to see him have another sixth man of the year type season. So what do you guys think about Davis? <div align="center"> </div>
he has matured a lot, he used to just jack up every shot he could, but now he is becoming more of a team player.
I use to think of him as a selfish ball hog. Now with the Celtics i think of him more as a team player.

There have been a lot of people over the years that would have you remember nothing but bad things about this man. I still think the general national sports media lays it on him a little thick, but he's done nothing worth noting here in Boston, so I'm stoked. I think he's readied himself for a breakout season next year, and I think he's in just the right place to do it. P.S. To prove my point, have you ever listened to Skip Bayless wax jerk about Ricky Davis? What a dunce.
I think of him as someone who made me embarassed to be a Cavs fan. I tried to support him when he was here, but his rediculous antics pissed me off to no end. When you make me ashamed you are on my team, I really don't care much about how nice you play with another team. He made childish comments upon leaving the cavs just to make sure cavs fans knew the kind of personaility our team was losing. That's the way I'll always see him, but I don't get why so many people seem to agree with me.

The man did some nonsense stuff in Cleveland, but like you said, I'm kind of surprised more people look at him in that light. We put up with some nonsense from players here in Boston in the early 90's, and we know how it goes (Dino), so I guess that makes sense.

People like Skip Bayless just jumped on the bandwagon because he saw an opportunity to bury someone a little deeper. Even people who were mad because he "hurt the spirit of the game" shouldn't be that mad.

People seem to take it on themselves to hurt Ricky's reputation even more, which is crap, but oh well. I'm just tired of hearing nothing but bad things from people who just have no idea.
The media and the fans LOVE to make a mockery of certain players. All it takes is for the player to make one stupid remark, one stupid play, or one stupid decision. Apparently, these people think that they're perfect and immune to mistakes. I understand that the media has a job to do and all, but enough is enough. Ricky couldn't shake his wrap no matter what he does. It still bothers me to this day, in this forgiving society that we live in, that Ricky still has a HUGE black mark on his name because of the silly triple double incident. It must be his whole mentality that irks people because their accounts of the whole situation and their negative opinions of him are flawed and unsubstantiated. Bill Simmons, in one of his columns, said that Ricky would be happy if he was shoveling crap at a circus. That's just it. The guy seems to be having a good time, no matter what. To me, while annoying at times (at the end of a blowout loss), I think it's a mostly positive attribute to have. In fact, I'd like to see Pierce with a similar mindset. NBA basketball, for the most part, is an emotional game. Sometimes PP seems to let his emotions affect his play. Ricky, however, is going to look at things the same way, no matter what the circumstances are. People look at the way Ricky handles himself and they think he's arrogant, cocky, and selfish. In reality, he's just mentally strong and doesn't let his emotions get to him.
When I first heard of Ricky Davis coming to Boston, I had my doubts, I mean, all the bad publicity he was getting, I thought we were just going to get another head-case, but now, he has shown us that he has matured...I mean, after watching a few games last season, he looks like he is having fun on the court, it just looks like he belongs to the Celtics, especially if he is accepting a sixth-man role with us, could you imagine if Cleveland tried to do that to him? damn! Im glad he is a Celtic, and Ricky Davis is what we are all about, I hope he is with us for many more years!

Nevertheless, a good one.
