I know its a little late, but according to hoopstats.com, these are the top 5 effiency rankings for the SG position. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Player- Eff 1. K. Bryant 24.3 2. D. Wade 23.2 3. P. Pierce 22.1 4. L. Hughes 21.9 5. V. Carter 21.6</div> This proves furthermore to the people that said Kobe had a poor season, that they are wrong. The website also say's that without Kobe, LA were 6-10 with a .375 winning percentage. Against other SG's, Kobe's record was 49-12. Against other top 10 SG's, Kobe's record was 13-4. They are just stats that I thought would be interesting to know.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Wow, that's interesting. His efficiency is pretty high despite his career high in turnovers.</div> I think his points, assists and rebounds count for alot. He may also get a certain amount of points for beating his opponent(the opposing SG). This is actually quite good because shutting dow your man is very important and it looks as if done that all season. His record shows it all. Even against the stars he performed. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">dont get it</div> The efficency is points given for the average points, rebounds, assists, t/o's, fg% etc... Kobe had the highest average of efficency points per game this season.

He had a great season statistic wise, but that was expected. It's how poorly the team played, and they are going to put it on the leader, which is Kobe Bryant.

The biggest measurement of a good season for a leader such as Kobe is how well the team played.
Thats tight and all....but doesn't make sense...how can his record be 49-12 or whatever when they won 34 games
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ilive4ball:</div><div class="quote_post">Thats tight and all....but doesn't make sense...how can his record be 49-12 or whatever when they won 34 games</div> I think it's referring to head 2 head matchups. Kobe's efficiency was better 49 out of 61 times versus the SG he was matched up with. PhiLa - efficiency is a mathematical formula that includes player stats to get to a number. for example PTS + REB + AST - TO etc.
OH ok....cool....well still....this isn't really groundbreaking news, it mere statistically verifies what everyone knew- Kobe's the best SG in the league.
Of course its always the team effort, but I think if I search through the stats, I will probably find a certain player that was statistically one of the main causes for the poor season. Anyway, lets forget that, we've got a new season to look forward to.
