<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DraftExpress - Jonathan Givony from DraftExpress.com is reporting that CSKA Moscow guard Marcus Brown is seriously considering three different contract offers he has been made from NBA teams this summer. Brown, a 6-3 extremely athletic combo guard who has had stints with both the Portland Trailblazers and Detroit Pistons in 1997 and 2000, was the highest paid player in Europe last year playing for Euroleague Final Four participants CSKA Moscow. He has offers from the Cleveland Cavaliers , San Antonio Spurs and Seattle Supersonics , and is expected to make a decision within the next week regarding where to sign. Givony spoke with Brown?s agent, Craig McKenzie and confirmed that these offers are indeed on the table. According to various media reports in Europe, Brown also has contract offers from Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel and Ulker in Turkey in excess of 1.5 million dollars net. McKenzie confirmed that those teams are indeed interested, and although the reported numbers are close, he believes Brown can do better than that.</div> Real GM Interesting, anyone know much about him? Shiek, I remember you mentioned him in your articles about NBA Journeymen, but other than that I don't know much about him, other than he's 6'3 and athletic as the article says, and came from Murray State. Could this be a further indication that we are looking to sign and trade Flip? Coach Weiss wants to play a four guard rotation and it seems three of those spots are already filled with the signing of Brunson. Given Brown can earn a fortune in Europe and be a superstar there, I find it hard to believe management would merely offer him the chance to sit on the bench here as a 5th guard.

He can do it all but he is getting up there in years and is not as productive as he's been in the past. He's lost a step but he makes it up with an incredible basketball IQ and good skills. He is better than the majority of back up guards in the league and I would love to have him on the roster if we lose Flip. You are right Dez, he wouldn't come over here to accept a 4th or 5th guard role, he is too talented for that. That being said I think that his age would deter us from giving him a long term contract because he is on the downward slope of his career. Glad to see some teams looking to bring over established talent from Europe.
According to Locke, if Brown does accept our contract offer, then Flip in a sign and trade for... wait for it... Francisco Elson is a possibility. Hey, at least we'll have someone to annoy KG if Reggie leaves.
I don't want to lose Flip, but as you said Elson can really D up on KG. In fact I'd venture to say he plays him straight up as well as Rasheed and Timmy. Unfortunately, I think that's about all he can do
Another name we have been linked to is DeSagana Diop. Geez, we're going backwards from Jerome, and that's saying something.
Well according to some I was speaking to who attended Ray's press conference today, management have denied even speaking with Brown, let alone offering him a deal.
