<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to league sources. The Raptors and Cavs are discussing a deal involving Jackson and that doest work hand-in-hand with Cleveland signing one-time Raptor Donyell Marshall as a free agent. Jackson, the 10th pick in the 2004 draft, was limited to just 10 games last year with the cavs because of injuries and wouldn't seem to fit in with Cleveland which also has Ira Newble and Sasha Pavlovic at the same position. The names that have surfaced for the Raptors are Eric and Aaron Williams--Toronto Star</div>

WOW, i'd be more than happy to see this go through!!

It would be a nice acquisition, but I don't see how it will work salary-wise. Eric and Aaron makes close to $10 million together and Luke Jackson makes about $1.5 million.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Alonzo Mourning may finally pay some dividends for the Raptors. While also working diligently to obtain second-year Cleveland guard Luke Jackson, the Raptors are expected to take advantage of the NBA's one-time tax amnesty to save enough money on the cap obligation they have to Mourning to be able to sign free agents starting today." Toronto Star

"Under the amnesty rule, the Raps would waive Mourning and save the buyout portion of his contract for tax purposes. That's expected to be more than $4 million, allowing them to get the free agent backup point guard they desperately need and perhaps to add a veteran to act as some sort of locker- room leader." Toronto Star

"And Mourning, with two years left on the Raptor books, has a longer contract than the other logical choice ? Lamond Murray ? who is entering the final year of his contract. It's also been rumoured around the Raptor offices that Babcock may just waive Murray and eat his salary to clear up a roster spot for a younger player. That player may be Cleveland's Jackson." Toronto Star</div>

Looks optimistic... Luke Jackson would be a great fit in our system, and he'd finally get a chance to shine, I'm starting to see the light down the long dark winding road we call the Raptors.

It's nice I guess if he plays SG, so that would work, because we definately don't need anymore SF's.

If we get him, then there's no need to worry about signing Bonner.

Kevin Willis may be another one... If we get Luke and Kevin, wow.

    pg-Rafer/Jose
    sg-Mo Pete/Luke
    sf-Jalen/Joey
    pf-Chris/Charlie
    C-Kevin/Araujo/Sow

Pretty impressive, apart from Kevin... This team is extremely young and very talented.

i thought kevin was retiring??? i definitely like luke! he is a good kid.... lol. he would fit our system nicely with youth, and he has a 3pt shot, so there would be no need to sign bonner, although i will miss him:(

Jackson would be great, he would add some much needed SG depth.

Luke Jackson is a gem, and would give the Raptors a perimeter player to punish teams when they double down on Chris Bosh. He is underrated ball handler also, and if he can finally stay healthy, he could become part of the core unit in Toronto.

I think the Raptors should hold on to Aaron Williams for the time being. They are thin upfront, and Aaron Williams can play the 4 or 5 off the bench.

I'm not sure if we can say he'll replace Bonner just like that. While he does have a good shot, he's not yet shown it at the NBA level because of injuries. In summer league he also wasn't making his shots too well, so we'll have to see.

Aaron Williams just plain sucks. Period. If this rumor isn't true, the only reason Toronto, or any other team would want him because he has an expiring contract. He isn't even as good as Araujo. You know you need some work when Rafael Araujo is better than you. [IMG]

Yeah thats true, Aaron SUCKS. Plus Araujo,Sow,Charlie and MAYBE Kevin Willis can make up for it...EASILY

Here they compare him to Brent Barry. When the defence double teams CB4 in the paint, Chris can kick it out to Luke and !!3BALL!!
    (Duncan and Brent Barry anyone???)

I like the Kevin Willis rumour. He would add a locker room presence, keep Rafer in check, and hopefully show Bosh how to be a good leader. As long as he's not given an Olajuwon sized contract.

I would love to get a young guy with potential for Aaron or Eric Williams.

Kevin Willis, if we could get him cheap, it wouldn't be terrible having him help our young bigs.

Jackson would be a hell of a fit in Toronto if this deal goes down. He was hurt his rookie season and if he can stay healthy would be a great deal for Toronto. That is the big question mark on this trade though, can Jackson stay healthy. For the price that they are asking, I don't think it matters.

This would be a nice addition to the team, he'd pretty much fill the 3 point shooting we lost from marshall and maybe bonner if he's gone.

He is a 2-guard that can play the 3.
