It's all a speculation, but according to Babcock, in order for us to have a trade or two it will depend on whether or not the other teams get a move done - hence a "domino effect". We learned that the Luke Jackson deal may only go through if the Cavaliers get their hands on Damon Jones, which requires that Miami not being able to extend an offer to Jones. It doesn't look like they will be able to make an offer to Jones because they got the 5-team deal done to bring over Jason Williams / James Posey / Antoine Walker, so all signs point to the fact that Damon Jones will be in Cleveland when it's all said and done. Would that get us Luke Jackson? Only time will tell, but assuming that it happens, would that lead to another deal, possibly for Jamaal Magloire? Since we will have Jackson to play SG, would Morris Peterson become more expendable, and therefore available to be dealt to the Hornets? There's the Jalen Rose scenario too, but it will depend on whether or not Phoenix gets the deal done with Atlanta and Michael Finley not going to Phoenix. That will leave them wanting for a scoring SG/SF to fill Joe Johnson's role and since they would get a $5 million trade exception in the JJ deal with the Hawks, they could then deal the trade exception along with a filler for Jalen Rose. I realize that this would take a lot of luck and is only a mere speculation, but I believe that the scenarios have enough merit to them to be possible. Go ahead, go crazy and comment.

Well Damon will probably still get an offer from Miami. The Heat only have 1 PG as of now, so they will probably extend an offer to DJ. I also don't think we should trade Mo-Pete. He is one of our few good defenders, and plus, why would the Hornets do it? They have the Euro guy they just signed and JR Smith.

The Euro Guy they signed in the name of Androviskevicious or something along the lines of that will be nothing more than a backup. Remember that Hornets wanted Morris Peterson when he was a restricted free agent, and they still don't have any legitimate threat from the outside, let alone a legitimate swingman, so I don't see why they wouldn't do it if we throw in the Denver's first round pick.

Well, actually, the Euro guy is going to be a starter and he is there threat from outside along with JR Smith. However, after thinking about it, I agree that it could be a good trade, however, we would be REALLY thin at SG since Jackson (assuming he's traded here) would be our only SG.

Yeah, but he's atrocious on defense. He's bad enough at SF, but I just can't stand to see when he has to guard PG's/SG's.

We can have Grambo guard the 2, and Rose "guard" the 3.

If we can get Jackson, I would be happy sticking with those 4 guards. You could have a potent offense in Jackson/Rose and lockdown defensive group in MoPete/Graham. Your logic seems to make sense, and I hope getting Jackson will be that easy for the Raps.

Speaking of Jackson...Jermaine Jackson as a 3rd string PG anyone? I prefer Cook over him, but he did look solid last year as a Knick. He was one of their best defenders, so it could be a nice pickup. Some of you might remember him from his Raptor days.

The bottom line with the 3rd PG is that he shouldn't be someone that demands playing time. Omar Cook, I believe, would be happy with his role being the third PG and he has the ability to get the rock to the right players and plays decent D. He'll also come cheap. How much more can you ask out of your 3rd point guard?

For third point guard Omar would be a great addition but im still hoping that Alvin will be able to play by the start of the season. If we get AL back and healthy we shouldnt sign Omar.

I wouldn't release Omar just to bring back Alvin. We can bring Williams as a backup SG. It's really doubtful Alvin Williams would be able to play 70-75 games, so we can bring them both back. Alvin adds depth to the SG spot, and we still have a solid 3rd PG in Cook.

Actually Bobcats the Heat have Jwill and Andre Emmett.

And I can see us getting Luke Jackson.

Andre Emmett is a SG. He isn't that good anyway. The Heat still need a backup PG.

    *Smack head*

Why do I keep getting Andre Emmett and Andre Barett mixed up.... maybe because their names are so damn similar...

And yes the Heat still do need a backup PG.

Heh, I like how you put that. 'Guard' the 3. [IMG] To put in better terms, looking at the back of his opponents jersey. [IMG]

Well, it seems our chacnes of getting Luke Jackson are getting even better... and I'm liking it.

It appears clear that the Cavs are goign to sign Damon Jones. With that, the domino effect takes place and the Cavs trade Jackson for A.Will to give Big Z some backup.

    I really hope this happens.

It sounds too good to be true, I just hope that the Cavs are at a point of win-now mode so they would do a trade like this.
