We all know about the news regarding the Orlando Magic using the amnesty rule on Christie which means he will be waived (If not, click here.) So that raised the question (you know what it is), what are the changes of him coming to Philly and would he be a good fit?

Unfortunately, Willie Green went down with an injury and we don't know where he stands right now and instead of rushing Louis Williams into primetime action by being one of the primary backups, wouldn't Christie be better? He's not the same player, we know that, but the reason to his downfall is mainly because he was not happy. Yes injuries played a part but if you're not happy you're not going to play and it's that simple. I'm sure they are not many teams that will pursue him, so maybe he would be good for a LLE?

And as far as him being happy, I think he would be moderately happy playing here. First and foremost he would be put in a better position in Philadelphia to win. No offense to the Magic but Philadelphia is in better condition as of right now, secondly he will be playing in PA the same place be played in college (Pepperdine), and last but not least he will be reunited with his buddy C-Webb.

So for the most part I think he would be a great back-up, we know about his defense and his passing skills would be of much use and when the going gets tough he knows how to execute plays down the stretch. He is veteran and I think he could teach Iguodala a few things about passing and defense. So all in all, he would be a very valuable asset to this team. What do you think? I could just see him in a Philly uniform and putting up his "I love my wife" signal in the air.

well, i would like christie here is philly, and in my opinion, we could very well get him. from what i understand, doug and webber are good friends. we should use webber to lure him in. i would definetly welcome him here. he can make the open j and he's a great defender. the only problem would be that he might want a lot of money. i would ony use the LLE to get him, but he might not accept. another problem is is that with him on our team, willie green will get less minutes, slowing down his developement. it might also lead to last year, when willie wasnt happy because he didnt get much minutes.

Christie has said he wants to be a Dallas Mavericks on several occasions thus far. I would not want him even if he wanted to come here if we acquire him we also acquire his wife. Who has been known to have some influence on Christie when it comes to franchises so it would be like having two people under the pay role. Christie is a good defender, but he had some injury problems last year in Orlando, and also has not shown many instances in which he looked like the Christie who helped the Kings make those great playoff runs.

I would rather target Anderson. Call me bias or a fan, but he is a good mentor, and one of the better community influences in the league. He has had some injury problems, but when healthy he usually puts up around 11 points a game. He could give us what Mckie did a few years ago before injuries slowed down his carrier. It would be a risk, and he has already planned a visit to the Lakers, but he is a better option than Christie.

I don't see any problem with Doug Christie coming here for the LLE. Of course, anything more and I wouldn't like it. Even at this age, he still brings great defense, hustle, and occasional scoring. Plus, he might add some good "karma" to the team since he's a good team player and everything. On top of that, the bench we have right now is very weak with only the powerforward spot being definite (Marc Jackson) so adding Christie would help us lay the plan out a bit. It would be a good idea bringing him in for the LLE.

Right now we don't even know the condition of Willie's injury. Besides, Christie can play small forward too so even if Willie does come back, they can round out the bench together.

I would like DG here, it looked like C-Webb and him made a pretty nice duo. I agree that with his aging he still is a great player. I always loved his defense and hustle.

I wouldnt mind DC as a backup....he still can produce you the small numbers you need off the bench. I rather have him over Dale Davis, Christian, and Crawford...

This is ofcourse a last resort option...not first!

There's NOWAY on earth we would get him for the LLE people....I would stilll rather have him over Willie Green. He's the kind of player that you know is very consistent not like the youngsters....and we need a veteran like that on the team
