kevin ollie to new york?? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Another trade possibility is the much-traveled Kevin Ollie, who played in only 26 games last year in Philadelphia after playing in all 82 the year before in Cleveland. Ollie's agent, Bill Neff, said his client had been frustrated in Philly under former head coach Jim O'Brien, but is now looking forward to working for new coach Mo Cheeks. But if the Knicks want to trade for him, Ollie would still be happy. Neff said his client, who will earn about $10 million over the next three years, would relish the opportunity to play for Brown again. Ollie played for Brown in Philadelphia and also for Knicks GM Isiah Thomas in Indiana in 2001-02. "Kevin loved playing for Larry Brown, and for Isiah," Neff said. "He's committed to the Sixers and he's eager to get a chance with Mo Cheeks. But if something were to happen, he'd be thrilled because he has so much respect for those guys. If the Knicks do end up moving Marbury, it might be a good fit because Kevin can definitely guard taller guards."</div> link:http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/ind...0000.xml&coll=1 well, being a sixers fan, i say, take him. he has a huge contract, and in my opinion, he isnt a good player. i really dont know why you guys would want him. i guess because larry brown wants him something.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Now that it's clear that Larry Brown wants Stephon Marbury to slide over to the shooting guard position, the Knicks will be on the lookout for a veteran point guard to ease the transition until Nate Robinson is ready. There are several possibilities, including free agents and a couple of point guards who have played for Brown. One of those is Cleveland's Eric Snow, who is under contract through 2009 and will earn $21 million. Snow was the man Brown had on the Sixers when he switched Allen Iverson to shooting guard, and is said to be one of Brown's favorites. However, the Cavaliers are in the market for a starting point guard and may not wish to trade Snow, who started 15 games last year for Cleveland and played in 81.</div> Newark Star-Ledger I like the move. We get defense, expereince and a pure point guard. He should also come cheap, too. Btw, I thought about this: why not just re-sign Jermaine Jackson? <font color="red">Threads merged </font> - <font color="blue">K.A.</font>
yeahh!!!! that would be a good financial move and I like Jackson defensive hustle and he will try to improve. That will be a perfect fit and he is also 6'5" so it will be a good move for us.
Hustle ballplayer. I don't like it very much. Never was a big Ollie fan, but if one guy could get him to play well in our system it'd be Larry. Ollie = some defense, which never hurts. Larry could work him in there. Not bad... EDIT: MrJ, I'm not much of a Jermaine fan. I didn't like what I saw out of him, at some points he wasted far too much clock and wasn't decisive - two things I don't like in a PG.

Larry would be a good teacher for Kevin Ollie, because his defense isn't very good. Don't know if he's worth the investment though. I watched Jermaine Jackson in a few Knicks games and he didn't seem to improve much from when he played on the Raps. Like K.A. said, he takes to long to move the ball and isn't an offensive threat. He'll man the fort for a limited minutes every game, but is career 3rd string PG.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Nylex:</div><div class="quote_post">Frank Williams would come cheap .</div> That's a pretty good idea. He would definetely come cheap. Much cheaper than Ollie and is younger as well. He plays good defense and is a pure player maker which is exactly what Larry Brown wants. He'll be extra motivated since this'll be his last good chance to be a serious contributor in this league. We should definetely look into giving him a shot. It probably isnt going to happen though. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
