Stanford duo leads U.S. men's basketball team at World University Games

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Stanford's Matt Haryasz and Chris Hernandez were selected Wednesday for the U.S. men's basketball team that will compete in the World University Games.

    Hernandez is one of four players on the roster who have played for other USA Basketball teams. Greg Brunner of Iowa, Shelden Williams of Duke and Craig Smith of Boston College have all represented the United States before.

    The others selected were: Randy Foye of Villanova, Mike Gansey of West Virginia, Vincent Grier of Minnesota, Eric Hicks of Cincinnati, Bobby Jones of Washington, Gerry McNamara of Syracuse and Patrick Sparks of Kentucky.

    The team will be coached by Jay Wright of Villanova with Jeff Capel of Virginia Commonwealth and Bobby Gonzalez of Manhattan as assistants.</div>
