<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Former Charlotte 49ers guard Eddie Basden, who signed a free-agent contract with the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, will leave Sunday for Chicago and begin preparing for rookie transition camp Sept. 16-21. "I just want to continue doing what I've been doing -- compete every night, play tough, hard defense," Basden said Friday. "Whatever role they need me to fill I'm willing to do that." Terms of Basden's contract were not available, but he described it as a two-year deal guaranteed upon his making the opening-day roster. Basden, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound swingman who was the Conference USA Player of the Year, said his first splurge purchase was a black, 4.2-L supercharged Range Rover. "I don't take any of this for granted," he said. "It's a blessing. ... I'm there, but now I've got to make it happen."</div> <div align="center">Source</div>
Good to see its official now. Basden sounds like a player that can come in and contribute to the team this year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting n-gezzy:</div><div class="quote_post">probably wont get a lot of time but seems like a good pickup</div> We really got to wait to see our day one roster before making that assumption. He is a big defensive guard, and like Duhon showed last season defensive minded people who can bring something to the table will find playing time in the Scott Skiles rotation. He is also a guy who has been known as someone who will give a player a shot to play and prove what he has. Most notable Janeero Pargo, Lawrence Funderburke, and Othella Harrington all players who received opportunities. He really let Lawrence and Pargo prove how good of players they were in the playoffs against the Wizards. Down the stretch instead of having Chandler and Kirk in there he allowed Pargo and Lawrence to remain in the game and continue to mount the Bulls comeback.
