They are two outstanding young players, but if you were starting a franchise which one would you take?

It's a tough decision because they are two of my favorite players. I'd go with SL14 because he is a totally different breed of point guard. His size and court vision are incredible for someone this age. Telfair will be a great player as well, but I'd take SL14.

I'd also have to go with Livingston. Livingston is a type of player that doesn't come around very often, he's kinda like a young Penny Hardaway, except less of a scorer, more of a passer, and not as explosive or athletic.

As a rookie out of highschool, he's alread shown ability to run a team, leadership, and good defensive ability. In addition to that, he has extraordinary handles and passing skills, didn't commit many turnovers, and many of the turnovers he had [literally about 50%] were from teammates not expecting the pass.

He'll definately be a great player...

Shaun Livingston. His game against the Bobcats last year said it all, 17 points, 9 dimes, 8 boards, 6 steals, and one turnover. Definitely a sign of things to come for the young Clipper.

I'd have to take Livingston. Livingston is more versatile, and Telfair has problems on defense because of his height.

Definately Livingston, not everyday do you see a 6-7 pg. Especially with his court vision and passing ability. I think telfair has the potential to be a great pg in this league maybe even an all-star. However I think The skys the limit for Livingston he posses all the gifts needed to be great in this league. Now all he has to do is put them to use.

I like Livingston on this matchup. Even at his young age, he's able to run a team and has qualities of a great point guard with his court vision, passing and dribbling skills. He's stands out to me more - especially because of his height, standing at 6'7.

Both are really good, young point guards with a lot of potential but I'd pick Livingston over Telfair.

Livingston by a landslide. Telfair has done better than expected so far i nthe league. however if livingston can avoid the injury bug, he will have the potential to be one of the great ones. 6-7 true pg dont come along too often

Awe... I like Telfair better because he can slash real well, but I agree that Livingston will be the better all round PG that could run a team.

Livingston by a mile. More versatile more talented and more focused. He will be a superstar in this league for a long time to come, and will be a pleasure to watch.

While I pick Livingston (I love the guys size,6'7 tall with a 7 foot wingspan), I know Telfair can hold his own. It's darn close, but because of SL14's size, he wins. And I m asking myself, "Which would you pay to see?". Livingston by a mile, like above posted.

I'm going with Telfair because he has more skills, is a better floor leader, quicker, faster, stronger, and can play under pressure

They are both good floor leader's at such young ages. Telfair has the speed advantage obviously, but Livingston has rebounding also. Also, Telfair isn't stronger than Livingston, even though they are both toothpicks. Livingston is a 6-7 pure PG, who is versatile and unlike most high schoolers, can play D (from the little I saw from him).

Remember that Livingston is still growing. He was 6'7 out of HS and could grow to 6'8, 6'9 by the time he hit his prime years.. That's a huge PG..

Like everyone said, I expect big things from Livingston. He most likely won't dominate the game like the other 6'9 PG did (Magic Johnson) but he'll be one of the top PGs. With Telfair, I see him becoming a better Damon Stoudamire, which is a pretty good player, but he won't be in the same level as Shaun.

Or maybe the size? The taller a player is the more evenly distributed there muscle bulk will be through out their body.

As far as the topics posed question goes I will go with Livingston. I am not a big fan of Sebastian he has not shown me anything to prove he will be a ?great? player in the future. I personally would not even start him this season if I were the Blazers I would give Jarret Jack the opportunity to prove himself, because he is a player who has paid his dues at the college level, and performed above average against a higher level of competition. Now I am not trying to start a big debate with Sebastian fans around the forum it?s just that he does not really do anything for me with his playing style.

Livingston like already said in this thread is 6?7? still growing. Can anyone name me another pure point guard who has come into the league with that type of size the last couple of years? The only name that comes to mind is Magic Johnson. Even with his size Livingston?s success is not a given. He is not a extremely strong player which is something he will need to improve now I don?t mean gain massive body bulk, but simply build up his resistance, and overall strength. To allow him to penetrate to the basket, take a hit, and finish the shot.

I think that Telfair is a more marketable star though.

hmm yes tough choise but i think there is not lots of 6,7 PG-s who has so good courtvision and talent.I will take Shaun because he is tall PG and i like tall PG-s+so far he has been better passer [IMG].
