Source Would it be too far of a stretch to say Houston should try to go after him, if possible? He feels that Nets were trying to drive his value down with all the reports. is it possible for a S/T w/ Juwon? I would almost just be happy with our point situation to be able to have Stro and SAR at the same time. Or would he be too much?
I think it would be too much. They already have a healthy Stro which is good. He wants to be a stater and if Houston gets Reef than he might want out becuase he wouldnt want to be a sixth man. Plus if he doesnt sign with the Nets im sure teams who already have good Pf wont take a chance on him.
Juwon Howard is a good player, he was one of the main reasons the Rockets went on their hot streak averaging about 12 points and 10 rebounds a game. The Rockets should focus attention else where.

I agree. With Swift, we don't really need Shareef. But He could still play SF for us and T-Mac plays SG. If Sura starts at point, then thats a huge starting lineup. 7'5", 6'9", 6'10", 6'8", 6'4"

Well Mac and Swift are quick. And Yao is fast for his size. Overall I don't aprove of SAR coming in now that we have Swift. But it all depends. If we can't find a solid PG. then theres nothing wrong with deepening our front court. Juwon and SAR on the bench would be great. But SAR is not high on the priority list. And so he shouldn't be.
Theres no where he would fit in...With Stro and J-Howard, he wouldnt see any minutes, and theres no way I'd play him at the 3 spot...I'd rather have Howard over Abdur-Rahim cuz Juwan has a nice jump shot and is already familiar with the guys on the team...
Juwon Howard and SAR have the same kind of game, so it would be real pointless to have both of them or to get rid of juwan so we can bring in SAR.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dakeem1:</div><div class="quote_post">Well Mac and Swift are quick. And Yao is fast for his size. </div> Saying Yao is fast for his size is like saying "that five hundred pound guy can run pretty quick for his size"...
Abdur-Rahim is a power forward at this stage of his career. If we get him, he will only become a sub at the four and occasional three. If you plan on playing him at small forward fulltime, he'll get killed because Abdur-Rahim is too slow now to guard the likes of Lebron James and Caron Butler. Besides, the Rockets don't have the money now to pursue him anyway.
There is absolutely no way any deal goes down that ends up with the Rockets landing Rahim. We already have a solid post presence with Yao, Mutumbo, Swift, and Weatherspoon. Adding SAR to the mix would just lead to problems off the court as players would not be happy about their minutes, etc. Talk about a total kill to team chemistry. Overall, when you think about all the things that can positively happen versus the negative things by bringing SAR aboard, the negatives list is a helluva lot bigger than the positives.
