I don't get how people have more than one favourite team. That's not loyal...being a true supporter means sticking to that one team through both the good and bad. Dudes, if you're a die-hard Raps supporter, then why do you support another team other than the Raps? Man, that's so lame.
I'm a huge Heat fan and their my favorite team, but my favorite player Ben Gordon plays for the Bulls so I have to root for the Bulls since my favorite player plays for them. The only problem is if the Bulls and Heat were to play in the playoffs, I would have to choose which to root for. I would have to go with the Heat but still hope Gordon has a good series.
Ive lived in Miami for most of my life and I am a huge Heat fan, I love the Heat and watch all their games. Then my favorite player is Paul Pierce so of course i root for the Celtics also. To me thats no problem im a loyal Heat fan and at the same time i root for my favorite players team also.
im a die hard Heat fan but I have otehr fav. players like VC. When the Nets played the Heat I was hoping VC did well but I still wanted the Heat to win the series. I also like the Celtics and Blazers because they have two of my fav. young players. I'm not a Clipper fan but I also like SL14 because he's going to be a great player. But I'm always going to be a life long Heat fan.
Warriors are by far my favorite team but I like the Rockets too. Its tough to watch the playoffs and not have a favorite team.

Rooting for another team does not make you any less of a die-hard fan, and some of your points are just silly.

This doesn't mean that they aren't loyal though. It just means that they have divided interests.
Teams are like women. Some of us can handle more than one at the same time. Others like to stay loyal to the one they feel is special. Then you have a guy like playmaker14 who's just a straight up pimp.
I?m a fan of three teams Chicago, Philadelphia, and Orlando. I could explain I how I came about liking each team, and since I have nothing better to do with my time I will. Chicago has always been my team since I was born my dad was a big fan of the Bulls dynasty even when he lived in Brazil so I came home from the hospital fully decked out in my pimp Baby Bull gear lol. When I moved to the United States at the age of four I was raised the majority of my life in Philadelphia. That is how I developed my fond love for the 76ers organization. I was always loyal to both the Bulls and 76ers for a long time. Then the Orlando Magic was funny how it came about. I was a casual fan not really a die hard until last years draft. I was one of those people who in the days when Shaq and Penny ruled when my teams were out I would cheer for them. Any who I had made a promise to myself that if Jameer Nelson was drafted to a team I was a casual fan of I would begin to follow that team closer. So that?s how that came about. Not only that, but they also went and acquired Steve Franchise one of the favorite players in the league as well. I am never more loyal to one than I am the other one of the main reasons I do not display a favorite team here on JBB. It says favorite team not teams.

I used to watch basketball before the Raps had a team, and since most of my family lived in NY, I followed the Knicks. So when the Raps got a team in '95, I decided to follow both teams instead of giving up on one. I don't think it makes me any less loyal. I mean I like two teams and I'm probably more of a diehard than you.
I like how some are explaining themselves to him, what is he the Godfather of basketball? You can like all 30 teams in the league for all I care, who's to tell you how many teams you can like or whether you're a loyal fan or not.
I like Laker and Raptors. I like the Lakers because the have Kobe and his one of my favorite players next 2 Bosh. Then I like the Raptors cause i'm in Canada.

But being a supporter of 2 different teams in the same league is kinda stupid (unless you have a really special reason). but the reason I hear from everyone is "Cause my fave player is on that team". Then you're not a fan of that team. I could care less for the Spurs if Ginobili was to leave to LA (or any other team). Think of it as this. Imagine (like my case) Ginobili was you're fave player of all time. Now it's USA vs. Argentina..........would you honestly cheer for Argentina cause :"Ginobili is my fave player". I think the only response to a "yes" would be a direct slap in the face (or worst). Tell me if you would still like the team if you're fave player left. Like a real supporter, I'd still be a raps fan if Chris Bosh or Jalen Rose left the team. (it's like not even a question). There are many who WOULD stop being supporters if Bosh or Rose would leave ......THEN you'd know who the real fans are. Makeoutcity ain't saying anything about liking 2-3 teams. Hell...I went nuts for the Spurs last year in the playoffs. But he's asking if you just like the teams or are "full blown loyal-no matter what happens- fans" of 2-3 teams (And that's what's just dumb).

Im not going to root against my players team. If he gets traded to say the sixers than I become a sixers fan because I want my favorite players team to do good.
Well, I was born in Charlotte, so the Bobcats are number one, but I moved to Canada a few years ago, and then I started following the Raptors (obviously). I don't see what's so 'lame' about that. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 44Thrilla:</div><div class="quote_post">Teams are like women. Some of us can handle more than one at the same time. However, most of us have favourite players, because they are funny, relate to them, or are just genuinely good guys. So usually your hometown team will always be your fav, but common if you really like certain players you are going to hope their team does well. My perspective is, that as long as there are quality good people on my team, then I'm gonna cheer for them. Regardless of record. Just like how the Raptors did last year, even though they lost, I still supported them, b/c they have good guys on the team. However if we had Gary Payton, Ricky Davis, Reggie Miller, Kevin Garnett, and Eddy Curry. I wouldn't want to support them, even if they had playoff success.

Even before that, I was cheering for Toronto and since Vince was a Raptor, it gave me more to cheer for. Now that Vince is gone, I'm still a Raptor fan but I also like New Jersey too and I want them to do good. Anyways, why like just one team? Do you also have to hate one team too?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Human Highlight:</div><div class="quote_post">Whats wrong with Kevin Garnett?</div> KG is really arrogant, when some undrafted kid dunked on him during pre-season scrimmages, he punched the guy in head and the kid had to go get stitches. He has punched his own teammate... Wally Szczerbiak He was threatening Brad Miller, and was being really immature and started doing things against the King's players. He just always seems to be looking for a fight, and to defend his honour over stupid little things. I could have Rasheed Wallace or Antoine Walker over him, just decided to go with KG. Didn't KG want to beat up Bonner after a hard foul?
