Oh thank god. When I read the title, I thought Detroit vs. San Antonio was going to be the main game. I'll be tuning in for Miami vs. LA.

God how many times is the NBA going to recycle the "Shaq vs. Kobe" thing? From the description of the game they act like Phil is playing in the game. I'm sick of hearing about this crap, can we get a legit game and not a soap opera which will likely turn into a 10-25 point blow-out?

1). Thats not what happened on the last Christmas Day.

2). How dare you under-estimate the powers of Phil. With the addition of Phil and hopefully, if Kwame turns into what we expect of him we could hold our own.

    1) I'll assume you are refering to the outcome of last Christmas' game. Both teams are different this year, Miami has significantly upgraded while LAL sent one of its best scorers away for a legit bust of a PF. How is LA going to stop Shaq? Kwame isn't going to play any defense and Mihm just isn't strong enough.

    2) What has Phil won without Shaq or MJ? He is a great coach when given the talent but Kwame isn't going to make up for 10% of Shaq's effect on a game. Even if Kwame ends up being a decent scorer he wont get to score too much with Shaq, Zo, and Haslem holding down the paint.

lakers are always a big draw...they have over 20 televised games nationally and they were nowhere close to cracking the playoffs last season...thats just how the league works...

Admitedly, they were on their way before Rudy T left and Odom got injured. I think they were 7 seeded then but they fell apart afterwards. Again, the NBA is milking away at some feud that is no longer there. My guess is that the media will blow up some story about the Heat not getting along and that will take up the half hour of SportsCenter left after they try to dramatize a 12-0 Yankees win against the Tigers.

LA vs Heat... Gonna be pretty boring this year...

I am however more interested in the Pistons / Spurs game. At least it'll be a closer game.

Even if it's a blowout, I'll find the game to be very exciting, not solely because of Kobe and Shaq (Which I still think is lingering) but mostly because of a new rivalry.... Kobe vs. Wade... that is a big time matchup.

I agree even if Miami beats them by 30 I will still find it a very entertaining game because of the Kobe vs Wade matchup.
