<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 02civic:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont get it personally. Why not sign him to an offer sheet yesterday or the day before that. By doing it today he gives the bulls to see who's available and who's not. If he did it yesterday most of the big name players to be waived will still be up in the air, with their teams waiting till the last minute to decide whether to try a trade or waive. They'd have to guess if Finley is actually gunna get waived or traded. Am i missing something or would this of been a better idea?</div> It wouldn't have been a good idea to make an offer any day before today. If Paxson was informed of the offer yesterday, that means he has until the 14th to decide whether to match Duhon, and because names like Michael Finley won't be on the market on the 14th, he will most likely go ahead and match the offer.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Proz4k:</div><div class="quote_post">Haslem have size problems, he have SF Body and becouse he's PF he have problem to defend tallers PF... he's also not super athletic. Walker isn't Ben Wallace but he have good size, again, for Defense missions the heat will go to Zo, and maybe to Simien . they even in Defense.</div> Hold on...you're telling me only 1 person needs to play defense?! Because Zo is a good defender and will defend a quality big man the 15 minutes he's on the court, that means that whoever else is playing the 4 spot doesnt have to defend? Think this through, it doesnt matter that Zo is a good defender, he'll get his minutes backing up Shaq and in the right situations at PF but he wont get a ton of minutes, his body just cant do it for 82 games a year+ playoffs. So who you have playing the other minutes is very important thus their defence abilities individually are very important. So, "they even in defense" is garage.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinKanaddy:</div><div class="quote_post">I believe Rafer Alston is worth more than just Luke Jackson, especially since Jackson has yet to prove anything on the NBA level and Cleveland, depending on where Damon Jones is headed, is stuck with Eric Snow as their only point guard. There has been Eric Snow to NY rumours floating around ever since Larry Brown took over the Knicks, and if that happens and they sign Damon Jones, Rafer could be the backup/starting PG for the Cavs.</div> Of course Rafer is worth more than Jackson, but Ferry won't give up a first round pick. I'm sure if the deal goes through, Cleveland will throw in the necessary fillers, but don't expect a first round pick.

This was definetly a big surprise to me when I logged on to Justbball. It's good knowing Babs hasn't gone on holiday just yet... wasn't really expecting anything this big this off season but I guess we can still have some hope.
Its good to hear that Babcock is experimenting and trying to acquire some young talent out there. I doubt that the Bulls will let Duhon go, but we can always try.

He can weight the options better. But then again i'm not a GM....I am glad though that Babs is recognizing the value of a real PG and a defensive PG. He's really redeamed himself i think. Anyone else agree?
It doesn't make up for some of his other lackluster moves, but I can tell he is going in the right direction. He won't redeem himself with this one move if Duhon becomes a Raptor, but I think I know where he is trying to take this team. I think Babcock's plan is to make this a good defensive team, but one that can still score, similiar to the Mavericks when Avery Johnson became coach.
Ok lookin good, im still liking the idea of tryin to package a player with some picks (1st rounders) and get a solid Big. Why not try and package next years picks Rafer and fillers for Magloire?

If the last day that Paxson can match was the 14th instead of the 15th, there simply wouldn't be any amnesty players available and Paxson would therefore match Duhon's offer because there aren't any other options.
