<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BigDave31:</div><div class="quote_post">yeah, sorry celtsfan2589, i meant playoffs!! no way are we ready for finals yet! Im Australian, and in our football, we say finals for the playoffs, and grand final for final!! lol...</div>

We gotcha, and you know, I totally agree with you, I think this team will accomplish no less than some playoff basketball. Despite what everyone seems to think (and yes, you <u>can</u> call me crazy for this) I think this team will take the Atlantic, despite a dearth of experience.

I read an article in the Brockton paper that said there was just no way, but I have a lot of faith in this team. And I'm excited about the young guys, I think some of them will make an impact right now, and that, to me, is more exciting than anything else I've heard this offseason.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 44Thrilla:</div><div class="quote_post">A scenario that would work under the new CBA would be:

Mark Blount, Marcus Banks, and our newly acquired trade exception

    Carlos Boozer

That's definitely a deal that I would do. I'm not sure if Utah would, but they just might. If they don't want Banks, Tony Allen could replace him in the deal and it would still work capwise.</div>

I think Utah would definetly say "NO!!!" to that. Why wouldn't you guys part with Jefferson for Boozer. Boozer is only 23! He's still young, and he's only gonna get better. Just I don't like him, he's backstabber. When Kirilenko did come after his knee injury, Boozer did horrible, every game he was in foul trouble and didn't do ****. I think Boozer for Jefferson is an awesome deal.

BTW-- O'Connor denied all rumors, but I still think he's trying to shop them.

The problem with that deal is last season. We saw the real side of Carlos Boozer. Al Jefferson is a question mark for the most part, he can play, but how much can he play? The Celtics seem to be dealing in question marks these days. But Boozer is so inconsistent, there isn't a real excuse for dealing such a promising player for him. And Jefferson is a real fan favorite around here, the general mood about Boozer is what he did to the Cavs, and remember, basketball is a business, Ainge is there to put butts in seats, and Boozer would be setback toward that goal.

I think Danny has made it clear that Al is untouchable, and Carlos Boozer isn't enough to get Danny to give him up. You just said it yourself that you hate him, and you're a fan of the team he plays on. That's a reason why his value isn't what you'd think it is. He also makes over 11 million/year, which is way too much for a player like him.

The reason I thought Blount and Banks would be a good deal is because you guys still have Okur, who I've heard would rather play PF then C. You guys also need a backup for Deron Williams and Banks would be great under Sloan. He would provide a nice change of pace from Deron. The Jazz Front Office might also want to get that huge trade exception to make another deal. A TE is more valuable than an expiring contract.

And to Ignignot, if Pierce was involved, his name would have been in that article. I guess it is possible that Ainge trades Pierce for these two, but I don't think that's necessary.

Oh no, I know that, I was just throwing it out there for Pierce buffs. Just a bit of fun.

Did I say that I wanted to trade for Jefferson? I was just saying Utah would more likely want a young PF back, that is good. Banks would be ok, but Blount? O'Connor denied these rumors anyways. I would like some extra money though, maybe we could get a good player that could play PG/SG.

I just read that we can't package the trade exception with other players, so that kills my idea.

So the TE is only for straight-up deals? Hmmm, that makes a lot of sense. No sarcasm there, obviously they only made it to assist teams in great financial straights, so that's a good thing. Too bad about that though, I would love to see Blount go.

I would not be a fan of this trade. We would get Boozer at the expense of stunting the growth of Al Jefferson. Sooner or later you have to find out whether Al is going to be the next Moses Malone or not.
