Reports have stated that the Raps just signed Duhon to an offer sheet, so does this mean we should go after Rafer and maybe trade Simien and a filler or two for Skip?

It is likely that the Bulls will match that offer sheet. However they have ten days to decide weather they will or won?t. Don?t expect the Raptors to trade their starting point guard until they are certain they have Duhon on lock down. Also why would you want Alston? You had him in Miami before, and although he performed well Damon Jones quickly replaced him. A guy who the Heat still might resign from what I hear his choice is down to Miami or Cleveland.

Miami Ball would definitely be hotter then ever if Rafer does move. Jus imagine Damon moves out of town and then the point guards will be 2 really creative, skilful and not to mention talented guys who are great athetes. They might be alittle undersized though when they have to handle the likes of B Diddy and Livingston. But then again alley oops, pretty passes and sick handles will be aplenty.

Bottom Line : Upsides would be entertaining basketball for the fans. Downsides would be Miami has no non-flashy PG which could result in a couple of turnovers or lost matches.

Yer i don't like the idea of having two somewhat similar PG's in Jwill and Rafer. I think its better if there are two different types of PG's to change the game style so the oppposition can't get used to anything. But i think Heat should try to keep Damon, if not then try Rafer. There aren't any other decent PG's on the market are there?

Damon Jones is likely to leave via Free Agency to the Cavs.

Acquiring Rafer would be nice, but I believe that the Bulls will match the offer still. However, if he does become available I woud look into it because he performed well for the Heat in 03-04. Although this a different team, he would still have a big role. If acquiring him means giving up Dorrell Wright, then no. Wayne Simien would be the guy that makes the most sense, but the Raps already have two young PF's so I don't really see any trade happening if they do indeed get Duhon.

I would like it if Rafer came to Miami. You said that there wouldnt be enough difference between him a JWill, but dont forget, Rafer came from And 1, hes got the moves. But now that I think about it, did JWill also come from And 1?

Any Heat fan would want Rafer more then Damon. Ya..Damon can shoot the three but we all know thats about it. Rafer on the other hand is flashy quick and can also shoot the three. Damon got the open threes cuz they doubled shaq, im sure Alston could have hit that to. Also most importantly Damon Jones cant change the pace and energy of a game, Alston definitely can. I remember last time he played with the Heat his energy was amazing he would come in do some crossovers, pass, and shoot then talk the trash, that gave the Heat a huuuuuge advantage.

IMO the Heat should wait and see what offers they get midseason or so. I'd like a taller PG to back up JWill. But then again, having JWill and Skip on the same team would only bring out the best of each player, espeically in pratice.
