<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Unless he drastically alters his contract proposals, Heat point guard Damon Jones probably won't be joining the Cavaliers. He's either priced himself out of Cleveland or asked for too many years. Either way, a source said the Cavaliers have reportedly moved past Jones and now have Dan Dickau, Jannero Pargo and Steve Blake on their radar. The most the Cavaliers could have offered the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Jones was $21.5 million - the $3.7 million the team has remaining under the salary cap, extended out five years. Some in the organization didn't think he was worth it. Jones could return to Miami and battle with recently acquired Jason Williams for the starting job. There's no question his 3-point shooting was enticing, especially with Eric Snow already on the roster. Now, Snow will likely be the starting point guard, with the team enlisting another player to be his backup.</div> Source
Damon needs to realize hes nothing more than a role player and quit asking for ridiculous money...he needs to play on a team with a big man and another player who can penetrate, handle the ball and dish...Cleveland, Miami and Houston would be perfect fits, but anywhere else and his weaknesses are exposed severely...
His weaknesses really showed in the playoffs last year. he shouldn't be a starting point guard. I hope he comes back to Miami to be Jason Williams backup.
Personally, I hope my LA Lakers start to persue him. I don't know if we would be willing to give alot of money to him though. He'll now most likely sign with the Heat again unless another team starts to make a move for him. As a player that broke some kind of Miami record for 3's in a season, while shooting 43%, I too wouldn't be too happy about being kept as a second PG option. He didn't get shown enough respect by Miami so he's trying to get as much money as possible. Any team he goes to should count themselves lucky. His 3 point shooting is something that all teams in the NBA need. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">His weaknesses really showed in the playoffs last year.</div> He was struggling with injuries during the playoffs. During the regular season, when he was healthy he was a key factor and probably the most important role player on the Miami team.

He was the captain last year and showed tremendous leadership. His defense was awesome just look at Rosnbaum's top ten small foward defenders. He scored more than Haslem and Jones and he left his heart out no the court every night.

Eddie Jones is one of the best Heat players of all time. He was a true leader and I don't see why the hell your dissing him.

Thanks to Shaq, D.Jones gets alot of open threes that he can hit.

He was the Heat's 3rd option last season, and their FIRST option for the many years before that.
