<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">No matter what school he ends up choosing, Brandon Rush doesn?t expect his college basketball career to last very long.

In an exclusive interview with The Star Monday afternoon, Rush said he?s alerting recruiters of his plans to enter the NBA draft after his freshman or sophomore season. Rush, who is scheduled to visit Kansas today, is the youngest brother of former local standouts JaRon and Kareem Rush.

?It?s no secret,? Rush said. ?Most of the coaches I talk to ? I don?t even have to tell them. Instead they tell me. They?re like, ?Don?t worry, we know you?re only going to be here a year or two.? They?re cool with it.?

Listed as the country?s 13th-best overall prospect, Rush is the highest-profile member of the 2005 class not to sign a national letter of intent. A 6-foot-6 small forward, Rush entered his name in last summer?s NBA draft but withdrew when it became clear he wouldn?t be selected in the first round.

?It got me down,? Rush said of having to withdraw from the draft. ?I felt like I was a first-round guy, but not enough other people saw it that way. That?s what happens sometimes.

?That?s why I?m looking so forward to going to college. I want to go out there and show everyone that I really was a first-round guy.?

Rush, 20, said he probably would reveal his college destination by the end of the week. Rush visited Illinois on Friday and Saturday. After today?s trip to Lawrence, Rush said he may visit Indiana, though that possibility is becoming less and less likely because of time constraints.</div>

Isn't he undersized for the SF position in the NBA? He's perfectly sized for the NCAA SF/PF position, but the NBA? he'll have to play some two guard, won't he?

No he has the size to play small forward in the NBA. The average size for NBA small forwards is around 6?6? to 6?8? just to name a few players who played small forward at some point during last season Cuttino Mobley (6?4?), Vince Carter (6?6?), Richard Jefferson (6?7?), James Posey (6?8?), Kyle Korver (6?6?), Andre Iguodala (6?6?). So as you see a lot of times players who are 6?6? are viewed as swingmen who can play small forward or shooting guard. He can hold his own as a NBA small forward if he chooses to be one until he develops a bit more with his game, or he could even stay at small forward if he chooses to.
