I need some opinions. A friend of mine, who is a Pacers fan is arguing with me that Artest is better than Richard Jefferson in ALL aspects. And as a Nets fan, I was defending RJ, saying that he can do plenty of things better. Like score/shoot and even dunk, even though that doesn't matter. I gave it to him that Artest is a great defender, but he still says RJ is nothing compared to Ron Artest.

    Any thoughts on this?

Well, he's right; Artest is a much better defender than Jefferson. Not taking anything away from Jefferson because he is solid defensively, it's just someone like Artest, who was the defensive player of the year over Ben Wallace, speaks for itself. Overall, both of them might be equal players, but defensively is where Artest specializes in. Defending Jefferson will be like saying Artest is a better dunker than Jefferson despite the fact Jefferson is one of the best dunkers in the league.

I luv RJ but, your friend is right. Artest can shut down anybody in the league and he'll drop thrity on you on any given night. It's a close matchup but I give Artest the nod here.

Yeah, I'm actually starting to see it now, with the good back-up you guys provide.. I still think that Jefferson could've been pretty damn good this year regardless if Artest could be better. It's because of that injured wrist, and the hamster-looking pointguard that made it worst.. [IMG]

Now I must admit defeat. I really hate losing to this guy. [IMG]

Yea, but you guys are forgetting when Kidd was out in the beginning of the season RJ was doing EVERYTHING. Rebounding, scoring, passing, stealing, I was shocked at how he had become the engine behind the Nets.
