<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Sacramento Kings have called a 3:45 p.m. news conference to announce the signing of forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim. The Kings were one of three teams in the running to obtain the coveted power forward, and The Bee reported in its Friday editions that the Kings were the front-runner. Abdur-Rahim earlier appeared headed for New Jersey in a trade with Portland. But New Jersey nixed the deal when Abdur-Rahim failed to pass their physical due to scar tissue in his right knee. He says it's the result of a surgery from his high school days and has not affected his play in the NBA. Terms of the contract were unavailable, but Abdur-Rahim is a marquee name. With his addition, the Kings starting lineup could be Mike Bibby, Bonzi Wells, Peja Stojakovic, Abdur-Rahim and Brad Miller. It would be, on paper at least, one of the more imposing lineups in the Pacific Division. sacbee </div> This is awesome. Bibby, Wells, Peja, Rahim, and Miller. We also have a solid bench. I can't wait. Also, I have a feeling King Petrie isn't done dealing. There is still plenty of offseason to go.
Very good lineup now.No weaknessis in starting 5 ,but now u guys have to hope that SAR is not going to get injured
Solid signing, the Kings have a nice group of veterans on their roster. I think they need to get some younger players in their rotation, some younger talents.
Good signing but I also dont believe the Kings are done dealing. They are still pretty mediocre defensively. They will probably look for another back-up PF/C as they have SAR (6'9) backed up by Kenny Thomas (6'7). Not that Thomas isnt effective but Thomas and SAR are probably too alike and they dont really compliment each other well (they share the same weaknesses).
No the Kings still have a glaring weakness, and thats defense. The thing is,the Kings offense is going to be so crazy that they'll win a ton of regular season games. They'll probably lose to a well rounded team in the playoffs though.Great signing for the MLE though, what a steal.

At the moment I believe that Brian Skinner is their back-up PF/C. With Kenny Thomas also backing them up.
How come it seemed so easy for Sacramento to sign Abdur Rahim while there were conflicts with the Nets?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chungster:</div><div class="quote_post">How come it seemed so easy for Sacramento to sign Abdur Rahim while there were conflicts with the Nets?</div> The Nets were bickering about Rahim's knees. They said they wanted Rahim to sign to a smaller contract or one for less money. Rahim was already getting a low amount of money, and he felt that they didn't appreciate him. Its like haggling for something that is already at half price, its pretty cheap. The Kings from the start wanted Rahim and discussed with Portland Sign and Trades, but Portland wouldn't budge. So Rahim appreciated the King's efforts and came back to sign with them.
The Kings doctors actually disagreed with the Nets doctors reports on his bad knee. The Kings doctors said there's nothing wrong with the scar tissue. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Kings' doctors performed their own extensive medical checkup when Abdur-Rahim came to Sacramento on Thursday, including plenty of their own MRIs. Goodwin said Abdur-Rahim has a bone spur in his right knee that has been there since he had arthroscopic surgery at 15, but there were no signs of imminent danger. "It's like anybody: If you go to the doctor and the doctor tells you you're sick, you think, 'Well it's a doctor, so he must know (what he's talking about),' " said Abdur-Rahim, who never has missed games because of the knee. "But I'd always go back to the fact that I knew how I felt, I knew I hadn't hurt myself, I hadn't missed games. ... I'm happy, I'm thankful, I'm grateful that this situation was here for me."</div> Source
As of now, the Kings are look like this... 1 - Mike Bibby, Jason Hart 2 - Bonzi Wells, Kevin Martin, Francisco Garcia 3 - Peja Stojakovic, Corliss Williamson 4 - Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Kenny Thomas 5 - Brad Miller, Brain Skinner, Jamal Sampson I'd like to see Maurice Evans, Eddie House and Songaila come back, but I'm not sure how possible that is. They could give us a lot of depth in the backcourt especially. Defense is still a big problem for us, but I'm liking this squad much better than last years. And at the moment, the entire team is healthy and will have all of training camp and pre-season to get acclimated to one another and the King's system. I'm pretty excited for this upcoming season... hopefully, there won't be any major injuries this season
Wow, and the epidemic Disease,SAR, has landed in NorCali, IDK bout u guys but I'm running for the hills!!!

As for SAR I'm really happy we have him, he is a good player and we have a good starting line-up. In NBA live my team was Miller SAR Peja Wells Bibby we finished the season 50-32, seems about right, but we should win more than that. Anyways, in the game, he seems abit undersized, is this true? (I've never seen him play!!!)
