Lat season everyone made a big deal of how getting Mourning would be the missing piece needed for Miami to go all the way, but now with the major trade deal done. Does anyone care whether Mourning returns or not or if the heat even need him?
THe Heat definately need him because Shaq is the only real center. He andds great defense and leadership this eam needs. I definatly want him back.
Yes, Mourning is a huge part of our team. He brings energy and excitement off the bench. And i'd much rather have him than Doleac backing up Shaq.
How can this even be a question? Of course we want him back Zo is the man he can change a game with 1 block he bring energy and excitement and if he stays ill be more then happy.
Why not? He provides energy, defense, and an occasional big dunk. His minutes won't be big and of course he probably won't be able to play big minutes, but definately keep him. You guys saw what he did in a playoff last year.
yeah, i agree...besides mourning has been a tremendous player in the history of the heat so i bet he would want to play and miami would want him back before they retire his jersey or something
Hell ya we need Zo. He's one of the best defensive Centers in NBA History and was big in the playoffs (The rebound in Game 3 of the first round to seal the victory for the Heat, the block on Larry Hughes in Game 4 of the East Semi-Finals to seal the win, the block on Tayshaun Prince in the 2nd game of the ECF in the last 2 possesions that would've cut the lead down to two). If he had played in the final minutes of Game 7 we would've made the Finals. He's still got gas in the tank and every team in the NBA would love to have a guy like Zo on their team.
I found at times, Zo sometimes improved their defense, but at other times he was too jumpy. Like its not always best to try to go for the block, but to stay on the ground and Zo was going for any pump fake, which would often times leave his man open. I would say individually his ability is good, but he just didn't seem to fit into the miami defense very seamlessly. He seemed to be trying to be going out of his way at times to get blocks for statistics and glory opposed to for the team. A guy like Haslem just tries to stop his guy from scoring, not take the risk on every play going for a block. I think it would be benefitial for Miami to have Zo, it just would be nicer if he integrated into the team's defense better.

If he went to block a shot it's because someone got beat off the dribble and weren't able to defend their own player. Zo can guard his guy and guard your guy if you get beat off the dribble which happened a lot with this team. Zo can block shots while Haslem just takes charges. Big difference and most prefer the shot blocker.
