I emailed Larry Harris 8 days ago addressing the backup PF postion and this is what he wrote back to me

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for your email and support of the moves we have made the last couple of weeks. We are always looking to better our team and making trades is certainly one way to do that. I can say that nothing appears imminent in the next couple of days, but you never know.

We don?t feel there is a lack of depth at the 4 position for the following reason: Joe Smith, Dan Gadzuric, Bobby Simmons, Toni Kukoc and Andrew Bogut can all play the power forward spot. I am not saying that we will not add another 4, but we like the depth we have and feel confident with the guys we already have in place.

Thanks again for your email and support. I hope to see you at the Bradley Center this season.

    Larry Harris

I really am impressed on the off season moves you have made. Is there any trades you are going to pull of in the next few days?

The reason I posed the question is because of the lack of PF depth. In my opinion we need another back up PF. Is there one out there in the free agency that could become a Buck in 2005-2006?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Wow that's really cool that you were able to communicate with Larry himself, man! I agree with him that we are gonna be pretty solid at the 4 cuz Joe Smith isnt as bad as a lotta people say he is, and Gadz can play either spot. Between those two guys, I think we have really solid depth, and they both can do different things. Gadz is a defender and a good rebounder, and Smith can score.

That's great stuff, man. How exactly did you get in touch with Harris? What's his email that you can send stuff to? I'd love to email him and get an interview for JBB [IMG]

I was surprised to see Bobby Simmons named mentioned to play PF. Could the Bucks be experimenting with a small lineup for stretches next season with DMase & Simmons in at the same time?

The trio of Gadz, Smith, and Kukoc should be enough to make the PF position competitive for the Bucks. Losing Zaza hurt some of their depth in the frontline, but this team will be much improved from last year. There are some cheap options out there as well for the Bucks to add some size. I think someone like Alan Henderson would be perfect.

Henderson would be a really good fit; veteran rebounder and pretty good defender. I'd love to see us get Othella Harrington. Are the Bulls expected to re sign him? It seems like there hasn't been much talk of him so maybe we can slip in and nab him. [IMG]
