<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia 76ers restricted free agent Willie Green will miss six to nine months after undergoing successful surgery on his left knee Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2 guard was scheduled to sign a $20 million, six-year contract, but the restricted free agent injured his knee in a pickup game. While contract terms were reached, the deal was never signed.

"I have been in contact with Willie's agent and we are exploring options with Willie," team president Billy King said. "There will be no immediate answer at this time."

Agent Noah Croom said he was unsure when he'll talk about the contract with King.

"I'm sure that he has some concerns and issues. We'll figure it out," Croom said. "There's no need to get into specifics. We'll have to figure out what our next step is."

Green thrived as a reserve last year when Allen Iverson was injured, including a 32-point game against Washington in January.

In two seasons with the 76ers, Green averaged 7.3 points and 1.4 assists. He was drafted in the second round in 2003 by Seattle and acquired by Philadelphia in a draft-night trade. </div>

Wow, Green out that long? This is horrible........ Louis is proabbly going to play now so maybe this could be a blessing in disguise and Louis can surprise all of you doubters out there. For everyone who said we needed to draft a bigman, now look we ended up needing a guard pretty muuch.

Very sad news for Green, he was on par for a breakout year this year. Giving the time to Louis Williams could work in our favour. He could blossom earlier than expected given some playing time in the league rather than NBDL. We do need another scorer/slasher/shooter now though. Does this mean more time for John Salmons???

King said he was looking for a perimeter player and at the same time we do need a big man. I heard Vlad Racmonovic was waitng for some offers. Because it doesn't seem as if we are going to sign Green, and from what I know we still have some of our MLE left, would that be enough for Vlad combined with the 6-year 20 mil Green was supposed to get?

Vladimir Radmanovic won't come to Philly for that kind of money.
I heard he wants around 50 Millions so it would be a long shot getting him but if King doesn't offer we won't know. Can he play 3 at all? I've read that he wants to be a starter,we wouldn't play him at PF.

Poor Green,In my eyes he had high expectations for coming season, now I hope we'll get him back when he's healthy again. It would really suck to lose him during the season when I wake up,open some NBA related site and read that Green has signed with the Jazz or Hawks.I hope it doesn't happen and he wants to stay here after next season too.
