    Great news. I read that in the paper today. I have a feelin he'll choose us, being that we have the best city, the best team, and the price of living here is super low. [IMG]

    If there is only a few thousand dollars in differance between contracts between houston and LA, then i dont see why anderson wouldnt come here. For the LLE, the mighty mouse should make a fine addition to our roster.

    that is what anderson's agent said in the L.A. paper.

    with that being said, which team will have the big year and more suitable for D.A.?

    ::cough:: HOUSTON:::

    Anderson's sure saying the right things and keeping his options. Frankly, I don't think money should be any problem because he will still be getting paid his Blazers contract. All he wants is minutes to play and that could come with both the Rockets and Lakers. However, would he be noticed more on a championship contender like the Rockets or a playoff contender like the Lakers? I think that would be the deciding factor in eventually him coming to Houston.

    im thinking DA wants to really come to Htown but his agent is trying to get him to bank on LA for the money...after reading all this stuff bout DA, his agent is like the only one who doesn't even have a clue where DA wants to go [IMG]

    Yay, I hope Derek Anderson can come to Clutch City. However, I noticed in the last two years he hasn't played many games and has a low field goal percentage. But anyway, he hopefully can provide a few points off the bench.

    Seems a no brainer for DA

    go to a team where you could start and play with a great young trio with a superstar swingman or go to a team who will likely be in the lottery again next year? hmmm tough choice.

    Portland already owe DA 18 million over the next two years. I don't see why money should matter anyway.

    If he comes here, he's probably going to be a starter for shooting guard with Wesley subbing for him here and there and then slide over to small forward if McGrady goes out. He probably won't be getting that much minutes from Van Gundy in order to avoid him going down with an injury and leaving us with the rotation we had last year. Still, for the LLE he's a decent player to have, just needs to work on his consistency and durability.

    decision should have been easy to make since no one likes playing with Kobe.. he'd never get the ball in LA.

    So far i've seen it appear on the Houston chronicles in the Rockets homepage which is a good sign but i will believe once i see him next to CD with a big smile waving a Rockets jersey with his name on it and the title "ROCKETS GET ANDERSON"or something similar to that.

    Dogged pursuit pays off as guard agrees to contract

    Anderson, moved by the Rockets' long pursuit, agreed to a two-year contract, the second year at his option, with the Rockets on Sunday, Anderson's agent Tony Dutt said.

    "He's coming here," said Dutt, who is based in Houston. "He's looking forward to the opportunity, a chance to start, to work to earn his minutes."

    Anderson, a 6-5 guard, is expected to sign with the Rockets on Tuesday. The Rockets were able to offer him their smaller salary-cap exception, worth $1.67 million the first season, considerably less than many teams had offered. Anderson had narrowed his choice to the Rockets and Lakers.</div>

    Anderson is a great addition to the Rockets and one would hope that he can contribute like he has been doing throught his career.
