I think the kings will reach about 57-25, nd will get knocked out in the 2nd round. How do u think the Kings will do?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SacTownKingsFan0:</div><div class="quote_post">champions. i can set goals high, cant i?</div> Yeah man, if we can play some defense we will win it Well lets hope so anyways
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SacTownKingsFan0:</div><div class="quote_post">champions. i can set goals high, cant i?</div> He said predictions, not goals. Anyway, I think Sacramento is a piece or two away from being able to beat SA or Miami. over a 7 game series. If Shaq or Tim Duncan weren't 100% then I could see Sacramento overcoming those teams. Sacramento has 3rd best record in the West Loses to Phoenix (2nd place) in Western Conference Semi-Finals. The reason why I think they won't get to WCF yet, is because they are sort of rebuilding, even though they will be a spectacular team even when rebuilding lol.
With SAR I say the Kings are almost guaranteed to get they're annual 50+ win season. However, when you take a glance at that staring lineup it's not that much different from the Divac and C-Webb era. Why? Well because quite frankly nobody in that current starting lineup can play any good standout defense. That has always been he Kings achilles heel and despite the dramatic makeover, defense is still going to be a problem for them. Thus I have to say they get kicked out in the first round (game 7).
I think they'll finish 3rd or 5th depending on what Phoenix does with the remainding offseason. The Kings will be the #1 offensive team in the league, but as usual they'll be poor on defense. They'll get knocked out of the playoffs in the 2nd round.
^Heres what I dont understand about that; the Kings won 50 games last year, and with a slew of injuries. The Kings are now healthy for the start of the season(hope it stays that way) and theyve upgraded their roster. So my question is,why 50+ instead of something like 55+ and why 6th seed when thats what they were last year before they upgraded the roster this offseason? Its as if you think theyve improved, but wont surpass last years success.

I'm not saying that the Kings are worse than any of these teams but they wont be as easy to beat and some of these teams will be fighting for the same playoff spot as the Kings are. Thats not the only factor either, one could argue that the Kings roster hasnt improved much at all. SAR isn't going to score much more than K. Thomas did in the last 20 games for the Kings and SAR isn't going to rebound or play defense as well as Thomas. Bonzi is a slight downgrade from Mobley IMO. Also, SAR could be unhealthy and get injured during the season, the Nets staff was very careful about him and his health and the Kings arent exactly known for having healthy players. Not to mention that the Kings are still greatly lacking defensively.
^My response to the first reason you make in that statement is that all of the Kings competition in that list of teams you made outside of maybe the Rockets werent as good as the Kings last year.So all of the teams that youve listed have improved, including the Kings. With that in mind, why is it a problem for the Kings if theyve improved along with the teams that they were better than in the first place? The Kings havent improved? They just signed SAR for significantly less than hes worth and slided their starting PF to being their backup.Their starting SG and PF last year were 6'3 and 6'7,now theyre 6'5 and 6'9.That means the Kings arent a small team anymore.Thats about all it means though in the front court because SAR is no defensive player, but at 6'7 Kenny Thomas got eaten alive by any legit competition anyway.SAR IS a better offensive player than KT though. As if the Kings werent already a high powered offensive team ,theyre even better now.Thats going to translate into a flashy regular season record. The Kings are better than the team they were last year, which EASILY made the playoffs.I dont know RunBJM,it seems like youre always playing devils advocate whenever you talk about the Kings
Sacramento will have another good year (that is if Bonzi Wells doesn't go all 'Trailblazer' on them) this season. But the West is too strong for them to do any serious damage, so I predict a second-round exit. I also believe that Mike Bibby will have a career year, with some good surrounding players. Hopefully he can make the All-Star roster .
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GiantMidget:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont know RunBJM,it seems like youre always playing devils advocate whenever you talk about the Kings </div> Actually you're right . Maybe its because they are division rivals with the Dub's. I enjoy debating with opposing fans about why their teams arent as good as they make them out to be. I play devil's advocate with the Heat alot too because of the fans who think that their team is invincible. I guess I just like a good debate (although some fans get frustrated and turn it into a verbal insult contest). I guess I'm just balancing the homer comments with negative rival fan comments.
Offensively the Kings look decent enough but defensively it may be the worse starting 5 of all time. No one on the Kings starting line-up even come close to playing decent enough defense. Nevermind championship defense.
^Just because a team doesnt win doesnt mean they choked.Phoenix,Miami,Detroit didnt choke last season. They just got beat. The Kings didnt choke against the Sonics.I predict the Kings will win 55-60 games,be a top 3 seed by winning the Pacific, and will be knocked out late in the series in the 2nd round. The Kings will also be the highest scoring team in the league next season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GiantMidget:</div><div class="quote_post">^Just because a team doesnt win doesnt mean they choked.</div> When we're talking about the Kings losing in the playoffs, choking usually comes into the conversation. But I agree, they didn't choke against the Sonics. Seattle just whooped that Sacramento butt!
^Are you going to cry? You have to bash my favorite team because I stated a fact? Smh... Loser. I'll have you know the Kings are my 2nd favorite team.
