This is not a Robert Horry situation, he's not a shot creator, he catches and shoots.

I would put 5 guys, but their's some I'd say are equal, so 5 can't work, in no order:

First Set: Ray Allen, Wade, Kobe, Bibby, Arenas, Billups, Gordon, Vince, Pierce

Second Set: Redd, Tmac, Nash, Dirk, Cassell, Ginobili, Rose

Third Set: Hamilton, Marbury, Hughes, Iverson, Baron

To be honest, Tmac hasn't been that much of a clutch player till last season, he's good, but a lot of people are putting him in the Top now, mostly because of the 13 in 35.

There's no one in this situation better than Kobe Bryant. He just has it more than anyone else. He got that from MJ!

Also, Mike Bibby is the best clutch point guard. Vince and Pierce are underrated clutch players too, and so is Bobby Simmons and Tim Duncan.

However, I don't get people when they claim McGrady is a top 5 clutch performers. Other than his ridiculous 13 points in 33 seconds, he just was not known for his clutch ability, he ain't like Shareef Abdur Rahim in crunch situations, but he isn't Kobe-like either.

Thank you, read post #22 of the thread, people have began to overatte his clutch abilities since that game. It was great, but one spectacular clutch performance doesn't equal being the best clutch player in the league.

I'm not sure about Simmons though, he will hit the shot, but if he's tightly guarded, or has to create by himself, don't expect him to make something happen.

Agreed, but the same could be said about Horry.
I only mentioned Simmons because he had like 3 or 4 game winners in the span of 15 days last season, I think. But the Clips go to him in late 4th quarter situations a lot, and he delivered most of the time, so he could be called clutch (somewhat).

    1. Bibby - brilliant as far as creating his own shots or setting others up
    2. AI - i know we're on offense, but he is excellent at clutch steals, assists, and scoring
    3. Kobe - i hate him because of it
    4. Ray - just so damn dangerous
    5. Vince - so athletic he can create his shot over anybody

I agree about the Robert Horry thing. If you watch the Sixers-Pistons round last year all game long they had a man on Korver at all times, limiting his effectiveness.

are all guys that really want the ball in that situation.
Another question is what good player doesn't want the ball in that situation?

    Rasheed Wallace
