Everyone loves the fourth quarter right? Especially when the teams are within 6 points (2 possesions), there is less than 6 minutes, and 6 (jk scratch that last six). Well, I was just wondering who everyone thinks is the best clutch player. I know there were many back in the day like Reggie, MJ, etc...but I want to know who everyone thinks is the best clutch player/shooter as of now. I think these are the top 10 clutch shooters (no specific order): 1. Ray Allen 2. Robert Horry 3. Baron Davis 4. Dwyane Wade 5. Tracy McGrady 6. Mike Bibby 7. Chauncey Billups 8. Sam Cassell 9. Allen Iverson 10. Kobe Bryant I like clutch shooters, because they are just more fun to watch! But if you want post up clutch players, then here is a good list: 1. Tim Duncan 2. Shaquille O?Neal 3. Kevin Garnett 4. Rasheed Wallace 5. (cant think of one, but 5 looks better than 4) Well my 3 personal fav are Horry, McGrady, and Ray Allen. Forever favorite: REGGIE MILLER!

I'm sure there is a thread very similar to this in Out Of Bounds forum. I'd suggest you check that out instead because not only is this topic a complete duplicate it's also in the wrong section of the the forum.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NbaBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">Ok, for some reason i dont remember Cassell being clutch ever.</div> You should go back and look at some old Rockets footage from 94,95 particuarly game 5 of the Knicks series....You should go back to the entire last month of the 97-98 season, when he carried the Nets into the playoffs big game after big game. You should go back to game 6 of the 2001, semi-finals of the Eastern Conference....Bucks about to get elimnated 33pts with a bad back....you should also take a quick look at the entire 03-04, Wolves season...and then focus on game 2 of the Sacramento series....and also game 7, yes KG carried them at the end but watch the entire game from start to finish...and watch who carried them during the early minutes when everyone else on the Wolves were scared likes girls, who are about to do "the do" for the very first time. Just take a few picks at those moments a few of many..and then comeback and we can talk clutch.
It's too bad that with all of the perimeter shooter they have, the Suns don't have a true clutch player. Anyway, I think Eddie Jones might also be a clutch player, look at his 3 pointer in game 4 of the Heat-Wizards series and the amazing 40 footer in game 7 of the Heat-Pistons series.
Kobe is the most clutch player in the league now, no arguement and I'm not a Lagirls (Lakers) fan. Horry is second. Bibby is third.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AirJordan:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe first? I dont think so. Ray Allen,Horry, Chauncey(very underrated) are ahead of him for now.</div> Are you kidding me? Kobe has hit so many important game winning shots/saves. Please name some important clutch shots that Ray Allen has hit. The same goes for Chauncey Billups. And yes, there are about 1000 similar threads to this.

They don't call him Mr. Big Shot for nothing.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ok, for some reason i dont remember Cassell being clutch ever.</div> I can't believe I just read this lol. <u>Clutch Shooters:</u> 1) Ray Allen 2) Mike Bibby 3) Robery Horry 4) Gilbert Arenas 5) Kobe Bryant 6) Dwyane Wade 7) Steve Nash 8) Vince Carter 9) Chauncey Billups 10) Michael Redd 11) Paul Pierce 12) Tracy McGrady 13) Manu Ginobili 14) Sam Cassell 15) Baron Davis HM: Jalen Rose, Rip Hamilton I factored in the ability to hit three's. Their's some players who are clutch scorers, but their shooting from outside the arc isn't as good, so they aren't as reliable in the dying seconds [if the team is down 3] as the guys who can hit from all over. Not one mention of Paul Pierce . Wow, I won't be able to sleep well tonight with that. Kobe is good, but through the years, he's been a big clutch shot taker. The more you take, the higher chance for you to make more, but he's not been the most efficient guy down the stretch, which can hurt the team as much as it helps it in other games. I don't know why people always neglect Arenas, the Wizards really need to get on TV more, he's one of the best converters in crunch time, whether it's getting to the line and making his FT's, or hitting big shots. Manu Ginobili also seemed to be forgotten, but he can produce down the stretch. Nash is also left out, the thing with him is that he hit's shots all game, so him hitting it in clutch doesn't seem like such a big deal, but he can shoot the lights out. <u>Clutch Scorers:</u> 1) Dwyane Wade 2) Paul Pierce 3) Gilbert Arenas 4) Kobe Bryant 5) Tracy McGrady 6) Ray Allen 7) Vince Carter 8) Mike Bibby 9) Larry Hughes 10) Manu Ginobili 11) Michael Redd 12) Chauncey Billups 13) Dirk Nowitzki 14) Sam Cassell 15) Allen Iverson HM: Jalen Rose, Baron Davis, Steve Nash, Rip Hamilton <u>Clutch Post Scorers:</u> 1) Kevin Garnett 2) Tim Duncan 3) Shaquille O'neal 4) Rasheed Wallace 5) Amare Stoudemire HM: Brad Miller Contrary to popular belief, Shaq isn't actually bad in crunch time if he's not shooting from the line. I gave KG #1 because he can hit big shots, and he's the only one who's a consistent threat from the line. Amare is a weird addition, he doesn't get the ball too much in crunch time, but when he does, he draws fouls like a beast, and his % is not bad.
There are some guys like Stephon Marbury who will score a lot on the 4th quarter, but they're scared to take the final shot for the game. Anyway, when we're thinking about clutch, you have to have Robert Horry on your list. He's one of the greatest clutch shooters of our time. Also another guy I liked in the clutch was Allan Houston. When he was healthy, he was as clutch as they come. Even against the 76ers this season when he was on his one good leg, he made that shot with Iguodala all in his face with 0.4 seconds left to send the game to OT.
^ Yup, Houston in his day was a beast in clutch. If he was more athletic, and was also a reliable guy at getting to the line, his whole clutch game would've been amazing, because when it comes to shooting, you almost expect it to go in.

Dwyane Wade pulled off some amazing clutch shots this season so I'm gonna give it to him, but in the playoffs...gonna hand it to Horry...That dude is real, keep ya head up baby!

Fact is, he still has a great percentage of getting clutch shots in. He definatly has a better clutch FG% then his normal FG%. He has taken so many shots yet he still isn't in decline. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">1) Dwyane Wade</div> I don't see how you can put him at number 1 clutch scorer when he's only been in the NBA for 2 seasons. I still don't recall him keeping the Heat in the game over the last couple of minutes with his consitant shooting. Please tell me at least three times he has done this. Even if you do manage to give me a list, I wonder how many of them matches were key matches. Has he ever done this in the playoffs? I think he has played in roughly 25 playoff matches so he should have done it at least 2 or 3 times there. All the other people on your list have consistenly proven to be good scorers in the clutch. Steve Nash is extremly underrated. Also, to add to him being sixth for clutch shooters, if you give him the ball beyond the arc you have a problem. You said you factored the first list on who can shoot the three. Every person on your list is a better 3 point shooter then Wade. All of them are also clutch. There is no reason why he is put ahead of all the other players.
