So where does that leave us financially? Do we have enough to go after someone like Jerome Williams?

Jerome Williams retired. All kidding aside, he most likely signed for the minimum so it doesn't use up any of your remaining MLE.

hell yea... i was gonna say something about that but im glad you said it! [IMG]
it seems to me that this guy has some potential and size... and he hasn't really had a chance to shine. he had a lot of blocks in college. he could be a diamond in the rough or he could be hunter with a cooler name.

Yeah, but at this point with no FA centers on the market that can help us we got something for nothing. I would rather Boumtje-Boumtje do nothing and only cost us minimal then us signing a laetner for more money and him doing nothing. Just watching all the teams around us get better has made this a bad summer. It isnt to say that come season time we wont be able to compete, its just on paper we seem a bit shorthanded. I hope we can stay healthy and improve our young guys. We need to step up and show everyone we are a playoff contender and not just a pretender.

Hopefully Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje can make an impact off the bench for us. I think he will play a Mario Kasun type of role where he comes off the bench and grabs a few rebounds each night. I don't mind this signing him because he is a big guy who cost us next to nothing.

We should have signed Jerome Beasley. That guy was a beast for us in the summer league and they sign Bomm jay Boom jay. He better be good.

This signing cant really hurt us, its basically the same as us signing someone from the D league in the middle of the season. The good thing is he will be a part of training camp and might be able to play a good back up role. The fact that he is young and has size is always a good sign, hopefully he will be able to play big among the east centers.

He's decent, in that he has size and can provide some much-needed help defensively, shot-blocking and rebounding...but the man is RAW offensively...in fact, I believe he has less offensive ability than Cato, and thats not cool at all...

he will be good defensively off the bench hopefully... one thing that i think a lot of people misunderstand is that we werent trying to sign a superstar or a hidden gem and throw him out to the lions... the signing was obviously to improve depth.

I agree with you Mickyeyez. This move was made to have a 3rd string center if needed. We didnt need a center that needed shots. We have enough players that need shots as it is. If we could bring in a defensive player to add depth to the bench at the center position we would sign them. Beasley played very well but we dont need another offensive player right now. We need to secure a defensive rotation that can slow teams down. We couldnt do that at all last season.
