<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Milwaukee Bucks have signed 2005 second round draft choice Ersan Ilyasova to a two-year contract, General Manager Larry Harris announced today. Terms of the deal were not announced in accordance with club policy.
?Ersan is a young, skilled player who we felt fortunate to select in the second round of the draft,? said Harris. ?He has all the tools to be a productive NBA player, and he has been working hard this summer to get stronger physically. Ersan will benefit greatly from practicing and playing with the veteran players on our roster.?

Selected with the 36th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Ilyasova averaged 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 12.5 minutes for Ulker in the Turkish League last season. In Euroleague competition in 2004-05, the 6-9, 235-lb forward averaged 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest. He has been a member of the Turkish Junior National Team and the Turkish Cadets National Team, where they captured the silver medal at the 2003 European Cadets Championship.</div>

Good news. Let's hope he can improve upon his play in the summer league...and stay healthy. This guy has big time potential to be Toni Kukoc junior in a couple years if he avoids injuries and finds some more consistency.

I agree he does have talent. There is no need to rush him. He needs to get stronger working out in the gym will do that. I like the pick. If he stays healthy there is a good chance that he could be someone special in a couple seasons.

The Bucks are in a position to make the playoffs this upcoming season, so I would play Ersan in the NBDL and keep the roster spot open for someone who can contribute right away. From what I've read, and the few clips I've seen, Ersan is a good two years away from being a consistent contributer.

Kirk Penney played well for the Bucks in the summer league, he hit some big shots, and was consistent in each game. Here's his bio off the Bucks official website ...

He seems to be a fan favorite as well, and I remember seeing an official blog from him, but I can't find the link now.

[IMG] Oh man, I would love to see Penney in a Bucks uniform. The guy's played well in the NBDL, summer league, etc, and didn't embarass himself last year with the Clips. We should give him a shot. Never hurts to have a good shooter and a winner on the end of your bench. [IMG]

Sweet, he's another good young shooter. I think they should do like Stevereno said and let him get some seasoning in the NBDL or whatever before we put him into the big time. We have plenty of scorers now, so it's better not to rush him and screw up his game. I'd really like to see Kirk playing for the Bucks, too!

I would like to see Kirk Penny as well but... Penny is a SG/PG and we have enough of them on our roster all ready. Charlie Bell fits the decription of coming off the bench and becoming an instant offensive player when needed, based on his showing in Spain. The player we need to fill now is a 3rd string center. Larry Harris is working out a deal to make it happen. After obtaining the 3rd string center the Bucks roster willl be set. If we didn't sign Charlie, Penny would be a good addition but how it stands now we have no room. Expect Harris to sign a 3rd string center within the next 2 weeks. [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Stevereno:</div><div class="quote_post">The thought about Kirk Penny as a buck is not going to happen because I found this link :

it says that Penny has agreed on a 1 year contract to play overseas next year and an option for a second.</div>

[IMG] say it ain't so. Well, hopefully he improves overseas and comes to play for Milwaukee next season [IMG]
