The rockets have alot of expiring contracts on their hands and a trade would solidfy this offseason as A+. Do you guys think that the T-wolves will trade latrell to us for expiring contracts ?
I felt completely different a couple days ago, but now I don't think I want Spree on our team. We got our potential swing man in Anderson and we have enough gaurds as it is. Plus he would probably be nothing but a distraction in the locker room. If we get anyone else this offseason I think it should be a bang around big man...unless there was a chance to get a true point gaurd like Earl Watson, then I would take one more gaurd
I dont think the TWolves will do any favors for Spree and I dont think we have anything they would want, including the expiring contracts.
Sprewell is a free agent and is no longer binded to the Timberwolves. I don't recall any instance of an unrestricted free agent signing with one team just so that he could be traded to the team he desires. It's more common to see the team that wants him waive a player then sign him.
I would say that we don't need Spree but looking at teams like Miami and San Antonio, we'll need all the veterans we can get. Especially if DA goes down with an injury. Spree could come in handy.

It does happen, but it's rare. I would trade for Sprewell if he was willing to sign a short term deal for cheap. I'd trade Charlie Ward or David Wesley for him.
I think that him or Da coming off the bench would give us some help while our starters are getting a breather. It would keep mcgrady's longevity in tact so he could light it up during the playoffs. I would pull the trigger on the deal if we are trading wesley and baker. I mean its a no brainer to me... hate Spree or not he brings talent more than david's nice guy persona can bring on the court.
NO to Spree! Anderson will be enough..We already have too many guards and Spree won't like sharing minutes with all of them. It'll be just like it was in Minnesota last season when they had a lot of players competing and complaining for minutes(Sczerbiak, Hudson). I'd prefer the 2 for 1 trade to free up some space then we sign Lonny Baxter as insurance in case Juwan isn't healthy enough to return.
If Spree is willing to work hard and not wine too much, yeah of course I would trade for him. Potentially, I can see us trading away Wesley and one or two expiring contracts for Sprewell. That way, we get rid of some garbage as well as freeing up a bit of roster space. Plus, trading away Wesley will make a bit of room for Sprewell so it really isn't so loaded. We can have a lineup of Sura, Sprewell, McGrady, Swift, and Yao. Andersen would work well in the second unit with his energized playing while Barry can play third string while give or take a couple minutes from Andersen. Plus, it gives McGrady at least five more minutes of rest- keeping him in good shape for the playoffs. Still, if possible, I'd like for us to get a bit younger. Really the only young players we got this year was Head and Swift. The rookie won't be getting too much minutes so its really only Swift that is the young guy contributing. However, I really don't see why Timberwolves would do a sign and trade. With Sprewell being in free agency, they already have relieved a bit of cap space. Why would trade for expiring contracts if they already achieved the goal of clearing up cap room this year?
im happy with the way the team is now like seriously, i really wouldnt want spree on teh team, if we added him to the team it would conflict with teh minutes that other players get it would be just all so confusing

(Lonny ftw )
Yeah, I'd like to get younger too and Spree is like 36?? Christ..and btw its Anderson, not Andersen. Andersen is bird man from New Orleans
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Agent: Sprewell Interested In Denver Denver Post - 08/26 - 4:32 AM EST The Nuggets have seen a boatload of free-agent shooting guards end up at other addresses this summer. But after teams passed him by as well, Latrell Sprewell seems high on Denver. "I can confirm Latrell has interest and even hopes of playing there," agent Bob Gist said Thursday of Sprewell, who averaged a career-low 12.8 points in 30.6 minutes with Minnesota last season. Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe confirmed talking to Gist. Gist said Sprewell, who also considers the Los Angeles Lakers a desirable destination, would contact coach George Karl in the near future. Gist said Sprewell likes the speed of Denver's game, the chance to start at two-guard and former New York teammate Marcus Camby and Karl. Denver can pay no more than the $5 million midlevel exception, which Gist called "hard to digest," but he added Sprewell could be inclined to take it. The guard, who turns 35 next month, earned $14.6 million last season. But after he turned down a reported $7 million per year deal early last season, the Timberwolves made no effort to re-sign him. Detroit and Houston signed other guards after eyeing him. "He made it clear that he could not see coming off the bench in Detroit and fitting in there," Gist said. "Not with (his) legs and basketball IQ and love for the game." </div> SOURCE is it just me, or does anyone else thinks this is good news ...Spree, pleeeeease don't become a Rocket, we don't want u here
Spree wants to start. Obviously, he won't want to come to Houston, with the SG/SF positions all but confirmed with Anderson and McGrady. I guess this shows a lot about Sprewell's character. He's willing to sign with a worse team just as long as he plays. It's a matter of pride but Spree is willing to forgo a chance at a championship with Detroit. Guess we're lucky we didn't land him, otherwise we'd hear grouching about playing time from him.
