The following was mentioned in the Truth & Rumors section of SI.COM <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jalen Rose has said many times through the media that he would love to play for the Lakers. The Toronto Raptors are shopping him around the league and he would seem an obvious fit as the triangle point guard. -- Hoopsworld.com</div> This has been mentioned multiple times before, but this is the first evidence I've seen that it is a legitimate option. I'm not sure who we'd trade for rose because we certainly don't want to trade Lamar, perhaps Devean George and Vlade? They are both expiring contracts (If Vlade plays at all otherwise he can be bought out). Rose in the lineup would be great and I think he wouldn't have a problem sharing the ball with Lamar and Kobe. He would know who's team it was coming in here, he would no he has a no nonsense coach, and he would know he has a role to play. I think this trio, and lineup would be potentially very dangerous... PG- Jalen Rose SG- Kobe Bryant SF- Lamar Odom PF- Kwame Brown C- Chris Mihm Other than Center I'm confident in all those positions, and even center isn't that bad as Mihm had a career year last year. What does everyone think?
It would be great to have Rose. I am wondering if Phil would prefer to have Mckie as a starter rather than Rose, because it seems that Phil really saw something in Mckie. Rose would be great for coming off the bench as a sixth man.
If this trade happens, it's going to take place during the season, otherwise the Lakers would be paying a hefty luxury tax. The Lakers would have to trade Odom for cheaper talent to absorb Rose's salary. Even though Brian Grant was waived, his salary still counts against the Lakers' cap space. There's no chance the Lakers go into the season with 4 players paid over $10Million. Unless their really is a blockbuster trade in the works, I think the Lakers are done for the summer.
Pargo more likely than Rose <div class="quote_poster">Quoting YourNewChef:</div><div class="quote_post">It would be great to have Rose. Damn! When I saw the topic name before clicking it got me all hyped up! LOL. Well, as of right now, we can only hope.
We don't need Artest, Odom would fit the Triangle much better plus Odom creates mismatches on the three spot.
I agree Odom will do better the 3 spot this season, but Artest is just better overall. Besides Odoms handles, I think Artest is the better SF.
