I wouldn t be suprised if they gave Vilma as much hype as R.Lewis if the NYJets ever get deep in the playoffs..

What do you guys of NYJets MLB Jonathan Vilma?

Skill wise Vilma will be like Ray Lewis in a year or two. But intesity and leadership wise, no one will be able to come close to Ray Lewis. He gets that entire team pumped up more than anyone else to ever play the game

yea but no one can come to the leadership and intensity of Ray Lewis.

Vilma will be a top linebacker soon

It's too bad that Sam Cowart got injured - that guy was a monster - a straight tackling machine. In our 8-8 year with Wade Phillips (his last season I believe) he was on pace to SHATTER the single season tackle record by like 22. Plus he missed like the last 4 or 5 games that year - and Ray Lewis still only finished with like 7 1/2 more tackles then him - with a full season and I don't know if they count postseason stats or not - that was his only probowl season as far as I know.

I remember when we played Tampa Bay - Wade dialed in his number on 3 consecutive plays to blitz him and the result was Shaun King getting sacked 3 consecutive times - then he got hurt along with Antoine Winfield and Henry Jones - then from there on out our playoff hopes went down the drain.

For a minute there, he looked as though he might return to form for the Jets, but never quite made it. Luckily Vilma turned into a stud for you guys.

Has the moved Vilma to the middle?

I thought he was the SLB, Hobson was in the middle, & Barton was the WLB.

Vilma will never match Lewis's Intensity and leadership, but soon Vilma will be as good a tackler as ray lewis
